Help, climate control (AC) vent noise

I spent 15 mintues trying to search the forum and internet, but didn't find an answer. Maybe I am not using the right query term. A few days ago I started to hear clicking (ta.ta.ta.ta.ta.ta.ta....) noise from the passenger side vent. It sounds like from the blower/fan. It happens when the air blower is on. Mine is a 2001 CL with 92k on it. Anyone here had similar problem, any fixes? Thanks!

P.S. I am getting close to 100K now, which makes me a bit nervous. From the posts here, people who had failed tranny tend to be CLS owners? Is that true? Or CLS owners come to the forum more than CLP owners?

It's both the CL-s and P. They're made of glass.

Is it coming from the vent or under the dash? Cause the noise is normal if it's under the dash. I had 3 CL's that did it. Have you replaced your AC filters? They could be clogged as well, or something rattling around the filter box.

I cannot be 100% sure yet, but it seems to come from the vent. And it's definately sound like the fan is touching something, which gives this fast rythm. The noise goes away when I turn off the climate control system. I haven't replaced the filter at 90k yet. I am debating whether to take it to the dealer or just do the filters myself this time and putoff the major serivce till 105k, which calls for timing belt and sparkplug at that time.

The filter is a 30min job max & well posted DIY instructions can be found in the FAQ, The fliters can be bought in any auto store for about $20.
