I have an optima YT---ran it for approx 2 years, and it sitll works like new. gonna have to get a smaller civic battery soon, and have a buyer already lined up for my old optima. the problems i have read about with optima batteries regard the 51R series, or the civic batteries. I will be using a stinger when my SC goes in---I think I will always use a dry cell battery from now on, no mess!

What's the Optima battery that will fit in the CL?
I think I've read that the Optima Blue Top (Marine) battery can also be used and has additional poles for hooking up accessories.

What bad did you hear about optima batteries? I have owned 3 optimas in 3 different cars including my CL, which I have had a yellowtop in for 2 years now, and have no problems. Optima is the shit. I have never heard a single thing wrong with them.

And I guess the top battery cover won't fit anymore?

After I found the Odyssey, I'm a big fan.

that little guy cranked my car no problem and powered an extra set of HIDs, 200w basslink, and a highly modded car. with zero dimming issues.

If you want to get a good battery that will not die after a night of leaving your lights on over night and/or playing your system for 6+ hours straight, then get the exide or deka (local comapies) Gel Cell batteries. They are EXPENSIVE, but my friend had his (now mine) 6000 watt system running for 6 hours and his car started right up. Not only that, the headlights were on too.
Oh and something that he had a problem with was that he had to replace/rebuild his alternators every month until he got this battery. His last alternator was still good when he sold the car. It was in there 5 months... Oh and for those of you who think that caps are a good investement, that was the first thing that he tried. He bought the biggest and best ones that he could find and it still ate his alternator. The battery is what helped him the most. I'll get the model number off of it later on. I have to go do a few things. And I'll add that he tried all the recomended Optima batteries. He sold them when the system still ate his aternator.
Approx. $ is about $250-$300, maybe more?
