Help, anybody used Axxis pads?

I am a New CLS Owner, man I cannot believe these brakes! I am contemplating changing to some aftermarket pads like Axxis etc to get better response. i have searched but limited info on this topic. Anybody done this mod? Was there much improvement? Was it worth it?

thanks for the help

I had the axxis pads on my previous 99 TL and they were great!!! They were a nice improvement on braking and the feel . I am going to be putting them on my 02 as soon as I am in some $$$. I would reccomend the brakes they are defintely worth the 100 for front and back .

Be prepared to have brown wheels a few days after u clean your wheels. The metal masters generte a whole lot of brake dust.

So what pads do you recommend for best combo of improved braking with the least amount of brake dust ? Do the upgraded pads actually improve braking distances ?

I used Axxis Metal Masters on my Nissan Maxima and they work best when hot. For normal driving they do not work well.

I've got Metal Masters on my '2. And they are a great pad for the price. As for the brake dust, it was only an issue when they were breaking in. They are now no worse than the stock pads.

I can't compare what the braking distance would be like on the ~3500lb CL, but my MR2 braking is just insane.

The Metal Masters are a good pad for normal driving conditions. Yes, they are a higher operating temp pad than stock, however they are perfectly fine for the daily commute. Not like racing pads, say Carbotech Panthers.
