Heat

It has been pretty cold here in philly the last few days ..the outside temp has read 20 a few days. With my heat on auto and set at 90 it does not seem to produce hot enough air. I am not sure what could be causing this but i feel the heat should be hotter? anybody?

i think its just 'cause its so cold out and your car itself (big chunk of heavy metal) is cold and a mini heater won't do enough. its like blasting your AC on a winter day, its cold as hell. but on a summer day, its whatevers.

Make sure you have enough coolant in the car first, then from there you start troubleshooting if there really is a problem or not. Also get a thermometer and measure the actual temp coming out of the vents.

It happened to me around 2 years ago. Mclarenf3387 is correct, check your coolant level.

Hopefully the temperature isn't normally set to 90 after you find out what is causing the problems, otherwise people might start to die inside =x

Your thinking of the refrigerant thats in the A/C system. That won't help him with this problem. You can drain the cooling system and refill it with fresh coolant though. Coolant does degrade over time and raises the freeze temprature and lowers the boil temprature of the coolant.

If the coolant checks out fine, your thermostat might not be working properly.

Also if nothing else shows a problem, then your blend doors might not be working properly. If you have had the system flushed recently you probably have air in your system. Even some dealers don't do the job right.
