Heard CT Exhaust on S2000 for first time
Now, Do they sound similar on the CL ?
Reason I ask, I am toying with the idea of swapping out my Thermal R&D system for something else.

IMO, not really. The Comptech exhaust on the CL sounds deeper, but that's basically due to the fact that they are two completely different engines. No exhaust on the CL will sound much like an S2000.
Personally I really like the sound of the Comptech Exhaust on the CL, but it's different than the S2000

Yeah, I understand that. My opinion is that all V6s sound like ass when they have aftermarket exhaust (and some stock ones too - see 350Z, G35C, Pontiac products).
Ugh, terrible!
A close second would be Subarus with boxer engines, which sound like a UPS truck that's missing on one or two of its cylinders.
Inline engines have a much smoother sound. V8s aren't bad because the firing order can be done in a way to make them sound amazing (see Ford Mustang Cobra pre boost generation).
Turbo'd engines, even V6s, always sound much better.

JRock: It's all opinion, but I think some V6's sound great. I personally like the sound of a nice V6 over almost every 4-cylinder except the S2000. The G35c and Z sound great stock and the CL sounds great with a Comptech exhaust.
I think a nice V8 has the best exhaust note, but I disagree with your other statements.
