Headlight Time delay relay

Has anyone ever installed a relay on your lights so they shut off automatically in about a minute after turning off your car and walking away?
My fiancee's parents have a Grand Cherokee Ltd with this feature and I'd like to install something like this on my car so i have light until i get to my apartment door.
How easy to install and how expensive?

At my parents house I use my Homelink to turn on an outside spotlight, but I can't do that at my apartment.

Thanks!

The new CL does have this option. As long as you keep the headlight switch on, the lights will turn-off automatically 15 sec. after you take the keys out of the ignition.

But he has a last gen CL.

Maybe you could use a relay from a current CL?

Yeah, the 1st gens don't have this option.
I thought I remembered seeing a time delay relay somewhere but I've searched radioshack.com and a few automotive sites and couldn't find anything.

When i installed my aftermarket foglights, i wired them to the fuse of my power widows. That way they will stay on upto 10min after i shut the car off (if i keep them switched on), and they'll always turn off when I open the door so i can never forget to turn them off. But a time delay on my lowbeams would be nice.

Just a relay won't work. You'll need to get a KIT, or rape one from a car with the option. The delay comes from an IC based "brain". They do, however have time delayed relays, but I am not sure if they are avalible in 12v. I know we use time delayed circuits to turn things "on". Maybe you can reverse the wireing setup to delay the shutoff on that specific circuit.
