There are some pretty good DIY's on here about doing them your self. I'm sure you searched before you posted this thread. Why not just try doing it your self?

Maybe buy some cheap spare ebay headlight(s) and practice. If it works out, do em all and resell the modded ones.

I'm curious... i just bought an 01 CL Type-S... and i noticed the headlamp shell is faded out. After closer inspection... it seems that there is some type of outer lining that peeled right off when I took it to the car wash. anyone know how to fix this crap besides buying new housing at 237.00 each at the dealership?

I never would attempt a DIY on a headlight shell. Let's be serious here and answer the question with a little more common sense.

check ebay a replacement aftermarket one should cost only like 120$tops...........if its more then of course buya new oem one.To attempt a DIY clearing of headlights on a shell is a good idea,in case you mess up and need your OEM headlights again.Or if your on a lease or plan on selling car you can simply swap.Moving the ballast over would be the hardest part.

I think the thing that really concerns me is the fact I have the Xenon headlamps as well.

maybe you could find some CL headlights at a local junkyard or you could pull them off any car there and practice.

Update... I fixed the clearing issue on my headlamps.

All you need is:

1500 grit color sand paper... make sure you wet it.

Sand the whole head lamp shell.

Then, a circular buffer... not the cheesy buffer that half rotates...

A nice polishing cover.

Standard compound wax from your local auto body shop.

Make sure the buffer is on low speed and polish as if you were waxing your car.

Good luck.
