headers!! comptech vs stone vs obx

I tried to use search, nothing came because of maintenance, wonder if anyone had a dyno on all three to compare a tad on how much horsepower gain for each, thanks!!

hahaha.

If I remember correctly, the Comptech gave the highest peak gains whereas the OBX and Stone gave only a little bit less (2-4hp), but gave a little more torque down low.

The bottom line is quality..... you really do get what you pay for. I'll say that the new Stone headers look good, but when we were doing comparisons back in the day the Comptech's had the best welds hands down.

Stone's quality remains to be seen as there aren't many out there. OBX has been hit or miss... many people have been fine, a bunch have had problems. You'll never see a post about problems with Comptech's headers.

FWIW, I have had the OBX since August with no problems so far.

i was looking at the new stone headers....it just doesnt make sense to pay over $1k for ct headers and only get 2-4 more hp when i can pay less than $500 for stone

It has nothing to do with HP, it's all about quality and customer service.

Why buy a Mercedes, when a Honda has just as much HP. It's about quality. Same with Comptech, the reason they are so expensive is "you get what you pay for" I would pay the extra $$ just to have the peace of mind of knowing they won't crack. And if for some reason they do, Comptech backs up their work.

What he said

The people who had problems with the OBX had troubles gettign replacements.. and OBX has a lifetime warranty. I'll tell you this... if I ever have problems I'm going to just buy the Comptechs. Their price is high... but nothing compares to them as far as quality and service... so, like I said above... you definitely get what you pay for....

From what I've heard, the warranty is worth less than the piece of paper it's written on.

and

I have OBX but if I could I would get Comptech for quality reasons. So far my OBXs have been worth the 400 I paid one year later.

same here.. but if I ever have problems I won't get another set of OBX... I'll just suck it up and buy the Comptechs. But hopefully I won't have any problems

NSX - I know.. I've heard some horror stories about warranty service. Most people don't even get any service, so you're right.. it's pretty worthless.

also look at the fail rates of the OBX, I think there is only about half a dozen members who have had problems. I'm sure there are probably close to 75-100 members on the board w/ them
