Headers, AEM CAI, Sway Bars........

I am pretty new to mods. My car is mostly stock. I really have no clue what headers, aem cai, or swaybars are or what they do for your car or any other mods. I was hoping someone could tell me what they do and what kind of performance they give you. thanks

Cai allows more air to enter the engine , therefor adding around 3-5 hp.
headers make air flow easier in the engine and probably give you a boost of around 30hp.
Sways - help reduce the car twisting in the corners. no performance gain in hp , but handling is increased.

Welcome! Glad to see another Sacramento area member on the board. We just had a meeting of Sacramento-area CL & TL owners earlier this morning. We had 5 CL's, and 1 TL. Two new members showed up this month. We're thinking about a meet on Aug 18th; hope you can make it.

As for mods, you have lots of choices. Headers are the most expensive (around $1,100) but give you an additional 25-30 peak horsepower, albeit only high in the RPM band. Sways are reasonable ($329), and really improve the feel in turns as well as reducing the body roll. Springs ($299) are a nice way to firm up the handling and improve the appearance by dropping the car to reduce the wheel well gap. Cold air intake may buy you another 5-10 HP, and sounds great at wide open throttle. Exhaust is mostly cosmetic but gives a nice burble at low RPM.

You should come to the next meet if you can because most of us have various mods, and can give you opinions value, performance, etc.

Cheers!

Welcome Paul. I'm also from Sacramento and attended our monthly meeting this morning.I love my headers, sways, and Stickier Toyo tires. They just make a great car better. Try and attend our next meet and you can see for yourself.

I have these mods except I have the Xephyr intake and could not be happier. This is the way the car should have come from the factory.
