Headers

I am planning on doing a custom exhaust system for my 2001 CL Non-Type-S (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...4#post10974974). I want to add headers now to do a full set-up. I am looking at going with the DC Sports Ceramic Headers (http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-130510.aspx). I found some cheap headers on eBay, but I like installing quality products on my car. What headers have you guys installed and which ones would you recommend?

I would like to go with stainless steel headers to dress up the engine bay and match the rest of my exhaust system, but I heard ceramic headers are better for two main reasons. First, stainless steal headers discolor and loose their shine real quick making them no longer appealing to the eye. Second, ceramic headers hold in heat better than stainless steal headers keeping the engine bay cooler. Is this true? Will ceramic headers also discolor like the stainless steal headers?

I found this Password JDM Header Shield during my research (http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-247499.aspx). Do you guys think this would actually be beneficial?

Thanks in advance!

The plate isnt worth while on the CL. You'll hit the subframe or the oil pan before you hit the header.

Ceramic headers are in genearal pretty cheap. The $150 set of stainless headers on ebay are going to be as nice or better than any ceramic ones, which will also discolor and absorb every bit of road grime.

Stainless, as long as you clean them up before firing up the engine for the first time - will stay plenty pretty for a long time.

Headers on the CL-P make a huge difference. I had the OBX ones on mine and aside from a little rattle, I was pleased with them.

^Any thing to free up HP on the CL-P will help the car in the long run.
