header wrap on intake tube

Now since I'm poking around at little things under the hood a noticed the intake tube gets warm from the under hood temp.

Anyone wrap their intake before ?

Header wrap is made to keep heat in. I don't think it would be a good idea.

id do the "lower under hood temp mods" on the 3rd gen side. i think inaccurate made a diy on it. with my hood popped up, the temp doesnt go above 90-95deg F. i love it.

so it keeps the cool air in, , either way it acts as an insulator, so it does not matter how you look at it, it does the same job

If there was any benifit to it, don't you think K&N, AEM, INJEN, or Volant would have something for that. I mean after all they are the cold air intake specialist. Thats all they do. Think they would have figured it out? Just my thoughts.

or most people like the shiny look, so they look to see where they can sell the most

but then look at the comptech one though, all plastic or rubber, so the heat can't transfer into it as easily (it can, but it takes alot longer though)

I actually was looking at this stuff but,I dont want to do it in gold color.
I don't want to look like I'm trying to match the gold on my car.
Silver or black would be the color for me.

Gold is the best reflector of heat. Thats why the McLaren F1s engine bay is covered it in.
