Header installation K-W/TO area

I'm planning on getting headers soon. I was wondering what good shops are available to install them. I live in teh K-W area, so something around here would be preferrable, but I can make the drive to the GTA if necessary. I asked woodbine acura about headers and installation and they quoted me $1749 CDN + tax. Thinking about getting them from exelrate on the board

OMG...$1749 CDN + tax?!?! There are places here in the states the will do it for around $200-$300. Surely there is somewhere else that can do that install for MUCH less!

Do it yourself! It's not a hard thing to do. Even if you don't own 1 tool, it would be cheaper to buy all the tools that you need and do it yourself. Plus you will have the satisfaction of doing the install.

That price is a ripoff!!!

$1749 CDN was for the headers and installation, not just installation However, if you're saying places in the States will do it for 300-400 US including the headers, then it's worth it for me to drive down to the states for a few days!
You know what's funny, I had asked Acura Woodbine a few years ago for the cost of headers and installation and they had said around 1800 if I remember correctly. Those were the days the CDN dollar was around 67 cents US. Now the CDN dollar is around 90 cents US, so you'd think the price may have come down a bit, unless CT raised their prices.

Sorry...my bad. It's not as ridiculous as I first thought. I didn't see the installation AND headers. It's still way too much to spend on headers and install IMO.

You can get headers (DC sports) for $350 or some used Comptechs for around $500 plus shipping and do it yourself for much less than $1749.

Hey G:

I have an Acura guy who can do it for us for $200 a pop. I am getting them too so we can maybe go together get a better price from him. This place is good. PM me for more info. Also, what headers are you getting from exelerate and for how much $??

lollololol!! that's hilarious!!!!

K-W= Kitchener/Waterloo, about an hour outside Toronto. Shop around dude, the prices you are being quoted are crazy. Try Point Zero in Waterloo, they seemed like they know what they are talking about.

lol, lots of K-Y at work!

The only reason I wouldn't want to get it done in GTA is if there are installation issues and I have to go back...gas is expensive these days lol! I still have to get Acura woodbine to fix my rear passenger seat. They messed it up the leather a bit when they removed it to put in the shocks/springs. I took it in a few times, first they got new clips and then next time they put them in, etc...seat still isn't right. Have to go back this summer. Used to have a lot more free time before. If there usually aren't too many problems with header installation then getting it done in GTA shouldn't be too bad! I'm leaning towards the CT headers. I know they expensive, but with 6sp I only have one other option and they haven't been out long enough to see how well they hold up over 3 years.

At the rate GTA is growing, K-W will soon be a part of it!

I think any price is alot for something that is actually very easy to do. If you don't have the time then that's another story. Give it a shot, don't worry you'll have lots of help.
