Search first, thread second.

I replaced mine with Bosch Excel Micro Edge or something like that. If you can spare 2 min and 30 sec, you can do this.

you shoudl replace the whole thing, since the metal part is what pushes the rubber blades to your windsheild

I got the whole wiper (not the arm though). The left one was about $10 and the right one was about $17, looking at the car. The reason is that one is longer than the other. These work great too.

Actually, you dont need the whole thing and second of all the the metal part does not press the rubber against the windshield. What actually pushes the rubber is the spring loaded arm. The metal bracket just holds the rubber blade in place. When you just buy the blade sometimes there is fitment issue such as extra movement.

I have tried Anco Aero Advantage and the Bosch Micro Edge. I like the Bosch's the best so far on my 2001 CLS. I run with Anco winter blades between Dec - March.

However, TireRack is now stocking Valeo Ultimate wiper blades. These are expensive at $39 per blade. These come as standard equipment on Audi's. They are fantastic, based on my experience with my A6.

Come April 1st, the winter wiper blades come off my CLS and I will try one of the Valeo on just the driver's side and continue using the Bosch on the passenger side.

I replaced my stockers with the standard Anco's and they suck ass. I am going to get Silblades once it stops snowing.

I hate Anco's. I'm pretty happy with the Bosch Excel Micro Edge.

I had always bought Anco's, but my last two pairs have been absolute shit. I would rather spend a couple extra bucks on the Silblades and get a nice warranty, and it seems that the local auto parts places have a high mark-up on the Bosch's.

I've used Anco and Honda replacement inserts. (Just the insert). I've had good luck with both. I have a pir of Honda inserts going right now in my 94 Accord Winter ride and they are very good. By the way the arms are original. I do not believe in replacing the whole arm.

If you take care of the arms they should not need replacing. My girlfriend use to abuse them when they had ice on them or when removing snow. I have shown her the light and she no longer does that.

The ones in my 6speed are original. But if they need replacing, I'll just do the insert.

Also, I am a big fan of RainX. I use it all the time. Stuff is the nuts.

I never understood the need to buy these high-dollar blade refills.
I just use the cheap narrow blade refills and keep a good coat of Zaino Z-6 on the glass.

Around my area, the winter snow and ice rips up the blades pretty hard over the winter.
Depending of course on how much snow we get.
I usually install a new set every spring and I’m good to go.

What does a 39-dollar piece of silicone do that a 3.99-dollar rubber one doesn’t?

Does anyone know what size i need in the silblade or anco winter wipers? All the size finders say I need 24" and 19", but I can;t seem to find the 19" anywhere. The only size availabe is 18" or 20"... Any suggestions... What have you guys used...?

Wiper Blades

You need 26" for the left and 19" for the right. Just did the research before finally replacing the blades on my 04 TL.

2004 TL is 3G, our CL's are 2G...

475mm - Passenger 18.715"
600mm - Driver 23.64"

So 19 and 24 will do it...

Go to Pep Boys and get the Trico Innovisions, they dont have a metal holder, its flexible so it forms to your windshield ive had them on my car a year through snow and ice and they still work like new. Little pricey, but its worth it.

I usually get new the Bosch Excel Micro Edge blades as well. They do a good job for almost a year before I change them.

In south FL anyway the $$ silicone blades are worth every cent. I've seen the rubber on some blades melt. It monsoons here each summer. You need wiper blades that work. I was replacing blades every 2 months. Didn't matter what brand they were. The OEM blades lasted less then that. The sun & humidity destroy these things. My blades 5 year no fault warranty? Can't beat that for the climate I'm in.
