From all your typo's...Looks like you're still freaking out...I've hit 140 a couple of times...on hwy 290 on the nw. side of houston...didnt stay there long, as soon as i got that fast i let the gas go and coasted for a while...also did that on my Acura Legend a few times, if not mistaken, i think i hit about 144 or 145...You better have alot of faith on your tires..eventhough I've done it..Its a pretty stupid thing to do, especially on stock tires...*never put anybody else's life in danger

I have done 148 in my type R. I have only gotten the CLS up to 130. Never wanted to go faster than that in this car (suspension feels like it is going to flip). At least that's how it feels after friving the ITR. I was scared shit in that car, I can't image what it must feel like in this one, unless you have springs, and like stated above, better tires.

I don't know about flipping, but before i got my springs I could do 130 without even worrying. The day after i installed them, i saw the needle hit 145 and the car felt VERY controlled.

Went 145 where 81 meets 61 in va. A down hill strech of road and you can see all the way to the bottom for cops. After my springs, headers, sways I hit about 147 or 148 and chickend out.

Our cars are limited to 147mph because of the V-rated tires. Despite what your speedometer says, and unless you've screwed with the govenor, you won't be going over 147mph in this car. Keep in mind that speedometers are not 100% accurate. On a deserted stretch of I-8 between San Diego and Tucson I hit 150mph on the speedo. I still never felt the governor kick in, so I must have been doing 147mph or less in actuality. This was on stock suspension and tires
Needless to say, that was my first and only top speed run in this car and perhaps my last in any car. It just wasn't that much fun for me

wanted to make it to 150, but I had to hit the breaks for the cars half mile a head of me.

i was cruising at around 100mph this morning going SB on 280, and i agree with some people when they say that the car feels like it will "flip." i pushed my old '87 MR2 a little over 110mph about a year ago, and the car felt like it handled the speed better than my CL-S.

What are you talking about?? 100MPH is like walking speed on our cars. I cruise at 100-110 everytime i am on the freeway w/o any problems.

I don't know where some of you guys are getting this flipping feeling at high speed...I do 120 pretty often on I-95 (especially when a bimmer passes me) and the car feels as stable at 120 as it does at 60 - stock everything

I've gotten up to 120 in my CL-S. I don't think I'll ever try to go any faster. However, the car was very stable. I thought I was going a little over 100 until I looked at the speedo and saw 120.

Astro,

from your pic, it clear that there is 1,000 rpm to the cutoff with nice tires and no governor speed limiter, do you think CLS can go faster or is it drag limited?

Thanks,

BTW, I would never want to go some 120+ unless I am on a NASCAR track, wearing a helmet and in perfect weather
