Angry Has anyone had Rotoras for over a year?

I bought performance cross drilled rotors last July as I was sick of warping OEM rotors. The new rotors and ceramic pads were great for a year... and are now warped! I am a little pissed off... changing rotors every year should not be routine maintenance.

I have heard that some have had problems with Rotoras while other (who have had them less than a year) say they are fine.

Does anyone have have experience with them for more than a year?

Just to be clear guys I was asking about the standard slotted rotors, not the BBK... though it is good to hear that the BBK is holding up well.

mine are the regular rotora slotted rotors with axxis pads. close to 35k miles on them with not one problem yet. i haven't had them a year, but i probably put more miles on my car per year than 75% of the members on here.

Are you running ROTORA rotors or Racing Concept Rotors b/c your sig says Racing Concept Rotors? Also, ROTORA doesn't offer just cross drilled rotors so are you sure you have ROTORA? Thirdly the rotors don't just typically warp. There must have been some improper lug torque or hard braking for the brakes to warp.

I am not currently runing Rotora... but am considering them as a replacement. My current Racing Concepts rotors were fine for the first 9 months and are now showing signs of warping. I am not hard on brakes and have never had a problem with the Integra or the Accord that I had before. And with the 6MT I always gear down further reducing wear on brakes. I am considering Rotora as a replacement but wanted to know what others have experienced with upgrades short of the BBK. I don't want to switch to Rotora and have them just last a year...

And... rotors do sometimes just warp. We have a crappy single piston system... this is my second CL and I had the same problems on both cars. My wheels have always been torqued properly since I had my rotors installed.

This is exactly what I am afraid of... I think that "not breaking them in right" is a pretty lame excuse. It makes me wonder if rotor replacement is just a band aid fix and what is really needed is the BBK.

I have sold tons of ROTORA slotted rotors to many different members on this forum and not one of them has warped yet. It isn't typical. I ran ROTORA rotors on my car for about 25-30K with no issues and at all and still plent of life on the rotor and the pad. A BBK is the best solution but if you don't have the $ for one go with the slotted rotors.

lol on this topic, Acura resurfaced my rotors about 2500 miles ago and they have been vibrating for a few weeks now. I have an appt. in the morning to get new ones. As soon as this next set fails I will be going for either the brembo blanks w/ ebc greenstuff or rotora slotted w/ ebc greenstuff.

I have the slotted with the Axxis ultra's. They been on for 65k miles 2 years. Pads are at 75% gone but I drive mostly hw. I just bought some new Axxis Pads and plan on turning the rotors next week. I do preventive changes early. Every thing is fine, don't worry about this type of set up. The braking is excellent but dust is bad. I don't mind it.

I had my Rotoras for about 9 to 10 months with NSX calipers and never had any problems.

So replacement rotors are only a temp fix... given that some (such as rotora?) may last longer than others. Im am not keen to go to the BBK as my winter wheels are 16s, which I am pretty sure will not fot over the BBK.

With ceramic pads I currently have NO dust... I would hate to go back to a high dust setup. Is this a function of the slotted rotors that take off more pad material?
