I have the same thing but I think it's a result of my spilling mt dew into the shifter a few years back. I tried to clean it out the best I could but apparently it wasn't enough.
The shifter moves easily during the summer but during the winter months when it's less than 50 degrees out the shifter feels like it's glued in place. The mt dew thing happened shortly after I got the car so I never got to experience how the shifter naturally acted during the winter. Once the car warms up it's not a problem but that's literally after 15 minutes of highway driving (enough time for the heat to reach and thaw the shifter). I dunno ... kinda sucks. Guess I'll just have to sell my car during the summer.

have not had that problem but like the others have mentioned shift into reverse is really bad when cold and this usually means death to transmission.....lol

just about every car I've driven when it's super cold shifts hard into reverse when it's uber cold and when the engine and tranny is cold as well.

Yeah, I have the same issue. I called the dealer one day and they told me that it could be the cable that links from shither to the transmission. I have to bring the car in to verify. That part is not covered under warranty.

When it gets cold outside the shifter and the linkage and everything else contracts and makes moving parts a little harder to move until the heat and friction loosens things up especially the viscous fluids.
