Hail Damage

I was wondering if anyone bought their car after August and had some hail damage to it...I noticed it after I bought my 03 Black CL-S. I wanted to know what should I tell the dealer cuz they are really pissing me off.

Thanks,
Michelle

How long between your noticing this damage and when you actually took delivery of the car .

I bought it a month ago and noticed it 3 days after I bought it. The dealer was trying to tell me it was paint chips from a truck..which was bull#$% because I never drove the car the weekend I bought it. I have the damage mainly on the hood by the windshield, on the roof and a few on the trunk. I want to bring my car in on Friday for the 4th time but am sick of their crap.

In your owner's manual is the toll free for acura customer service .Call them and get them involved .See if you can schedule a visit with the district rep if the dealer will not budge .Also make certain you document everything .Save all repair orders from the dealer and note all conversations .Be patient and reasonable but do be persistant .Most cases they do eventually budge .

My other question is what would they do to it. Would they wet-sand it or touch up the paint, replace the hood, etc?

Also make sure you take pics ASAP.. For your own documentation, in case anything comes up.

Well the actual repair will depend on the severity of the damage .In some cases they can employ the services of a ding doctor to fix the damage ,soemtimes they need to go to a body shop other times I have even seen "hush money " paid .Hush money is where a car manufacturer instead of fixing a problem like this offers cash instead .

I got some of that hush money for some paint and body defects on my car...I think most people would not notice...but the likes of those on this forum would notice!

Hopefully they are able to fix those dents...as long as the paint is in tact, hopefully they can do a paintless dent repair on it. If it requires repainting, hopefully you take it to a good body shop.
