Nice, you make a good deal on the EVO? Or a trade.

Sweet! You definitely have to put up a comparison after you've gotten a chance to test this car out....
I'm very interested in your evaluation of the handling. I was AutoX'ing last weekend, and there were 2 STi's as well as 2 Evo's. The Evo's were killing the STi's.. Could have been driver skills but the president of the AutoX club owned one of the STi's so I'm guessing it has a less agressive suspension setting.
How is the ride compared to the other? Sorry for all the questions, but my friend is looking at both

The STi definitely not as precise as the Evo, the STi tends to understeer which results in them falling behind the Evos at the track (this can be corrected with $ of course). Like you said, the driver is also key as I have seen STis beat Evos at the track and vice versa. For the street, the STi is great and I do prefer it to the Evo. The Evo rides harsher than the STi of course, more punishing. Quality goes to the Subaru hands down, inside and out.
Both are great vehicles, can't lose with either.
The wing will stay, its a trademark STi touch (was on the 22B as well).
I had a 99 2.5RS with some imported STi mods years back, so I have been into Rally inspired cars for awhile.
When I want to look professional, can always take the M3.

From what I remember reading, the EVO is somehow a little bit faster than the STi.
I forget what online mag it was, but it was a pretty "renowned" one.
Oh well. Nice car.

i think it was car and driver but the times were off because the two cars are about the same weight and the STI has 30hp+ along with the trq. I believe the Evo has a better final drive and you don't have to shift as much to get to 60mph. In the STi from what i read you need to shift 3x to get to 60mph, the car is setup for a rally course. I'm sure beltfed will be able to confirm or deny some of this.....

Car looks Awesome, but are you really gonna drive that as a winter vehicle?
I know it’s a 4WD, but it’s not really built for that.
Or do you have an F150 hidden away in one of your garages?

Appreciate the comments, always nice to hear.
Shawn....the car should be good for the Winter, just as long as the super aggressive tires are swapped for something more appropriate.
The STi definitely has to be shifted a bit more to get up to speed as compared to the Evo, but at the same time you're going faster in the STi.

I have no problem with the wing, the car has the power to back up its appearance to the casual observer who thinks its just a rice wagon. The car certainly isn't for everyone though.

Unsure....I'll probably keep the car stock for now (we'll see what happens after the car is broken in).
I'm in the lab plastics business, not that exciting (hopefully making a switch soon). If you're curious about professions, go to MBWorld and ask what those guys do that have SL55s, F355s, etc listed in their sigs.
Again for the comments
