Yup, over-revved the car yesturday. Basically I was on the highway and was downshifting from 6th to 4th. It slipped and went into 2nd
At first I didnt realize it, then I started to release the clutch. I felt the car engine braking excessively and caught it right at about 7.5k rpms. pushed the clutch back in and put it into the correct gear. I was nervous as hell. I didnt get any CELs, so I dont think I did any damage.
Ive been keeping an ear out on the engine, listening for any odd noises. So far nothing. I drove about 200 miles after that and the car seems fine. So Im counting myself lucky.
I was driving my brothers Accord two days ago, and his shifter is like driving a tractor trailer compared to mine, so I think thats why I f*cked up.
All I kept thinking was "Great! Now I have to do a 3.5l conversion."

Trolling Canuckistan
A lot of RSX-S lost trannies going from a high RPM 5th into 4th thinking it was 6h, their box is a little tighter than ours but our's is a bazillion times nicer to shift
I went 4th to 3rd once but caught it as you did and it wasn't a high RPM shift, no big deal I was just on auto pilot and the programming screwed up
No harm no foul.

Honestly I was so damn nervous when that happened. I've never mis-shifted like that before. I told my brother what happened, and told him if I let the clutch out any more Id need a new engine. He didnt believe me
I told him to try it in his car.
