Ha Ha Ha Hemi!!...First 300M kill reported???

It was a good Sunday morning so far, off to the fruit market before I cook the lady breakfast and had 3 good, and I mean good kills with a new 300M Hemi with MFG plates on it.

The car could have been driven better I am sure, but in any case, the smug driver was emabarassed in front of his woman on the way to Church.

The first time at a perfect light I looked at the car and read his lips when he said "watch This"

Keep in mind, We are at 15 degree wind chill this AM and we all know how much better our CL's eat up the cold air.

I did the best launch ever with little wheel spin until it hit vtec then started busting but the 300 M stayed even until about 20 mph, when I banged second, the I lurched forward almost 1 car and then 2 cars by time I hit third.

We repeated this at a second perfect line up at a red light with no traffic. This time I knew he would be more agressive since he is now emabarrassed. I played the reaction game and hit the green about .5-1.0 second before him and was 5 cars by 50mph.

3rd time was around a corner, I had someone turn in front of me and I had to slow , the hemi was full throttle. I was at about 30mph when I hit the gate shift into 1st and by the end of first, I was even and before the end of second now 2 cars.

He gave up and dropped behind.

There was a lot of yellow haze coming out of the UAW trash in all 3 runs .

Good thing I never had to smell it.........

My dad has a 2003 300M and swears it the fastest car i the world.

Oh yeah, nice kill.

No,, My sorry

It was a 300C the new ugly box. There was test equipment on the dash and underneath. It had an M plate and Hemi symbols on the sides.

What are you running?

The new Hemi 300C runs mid to high 5's 0-60 and low 14's in the 1/4 (~14.1)... Unless you are using some type of forced induction, you were running one of the other V6 model 300C's... (2.7L or 3.5L)

I mean, come on... It's a 340hp, a ton of torque and RWD...

Maybe the guy didn't know how to utlize it. Hell, I've raced a C5 vette and beat it. But I don't post about that kinda stuff... No point on bragging about beating the driver, not very much to be excited about (he left the traction control on, and couldn't launch it). Very few people really know how to race/run their car.

Put a 90 year old grandma in a Mclaren F1 and I'll beat it...

The new 300C doesn't just automatically come with a Hemi. There are 2 different v6 options with the car before the Hemi option.

I'd have to agree with cusdaddy on this one. There's no way in hell you beat a 300c WITH the Hemi under the hood and RWD.

there are four models:

300: 2.7l V6
300 Touring: 3.5l V6
300 Limited: 3.5l V6
300C: 5.7l V8 (the Hemi)

So, if it did have a "C", it must've been the V8.

New 300C figures from C&D:

C&D May Issue:
0-60mph: 5.3
1/4mi in 13.9@102

I reiterate my point that your story is falls in one of these 3 categories:

1.) You raced one of the other 300 models (2.7L or 3.5L) and mistook it for a Hemi version
2.) The guy didn't know how to drive or wasn't racing
3.) Your story is total BS

One of these 300C would most likely beat my Z let alone an Auto CLS (non FI)

The CLS gets better 0-60 times if you get on the throttle just right. Not just hammer it out of the hole.

Forgetting to turn off traction control on some cars can be devistating. Especially ones with a lot of torque and a very aggressive TCS.

THe stock 300C has a 190hp V-6. Could be that one. I am not sure how to distinguish the 3 diff levels of 300C yet.

Easy to distinguish. The car has a large HEMI emblem on the side!!!! As well as a 20" or so wheel.

no shit man, this story is completely ridiculous. look at those stats. no CL-S with anything shy of supercharger or a SHITLOAD of nitrous could beat the 300C with the hemi. next time take a closer look and dont claim to beat a car that could obviously torch you. it was most definately one of the V6 models.

The 300C with the Hemi only comes with 18's.
The 300 Touring: 3.5l V6 is only made overseas.
From my info the cars have not left the factory yet. The one you saw was a pre production test mule. So it could have had problems, or made to look like the hemi version even though it wasn't.

Probably raced one of the other engines.

It's not *impossible* to beat a faster car -- it does happen quite a bit on the street.

True. Street racing half the time doesn't solve anything.

Why is everybody going crazy here? He just about confirmed it was the V8 Hemi he was racing by all the visuals he saw on the car. In a perfect would we'd have no chance however in the real world anything is possible. He beat the driver not the car.

my mom has the 2.7 300m, its a quick car, but, as you get with most high end luxury cars (my dads E430 sport does it too), the reaction the engine has to the gas pedal is delayed for a "smoother" ride and it feels like the engine even eases the accel. with u jam the pedal down. So for engine stats i def think the chrysler is a monster, but if the new c's have the same settings then i could see how he could beat from a dig... and of course there is the whole driver issue... props on the kill.:-D

So what would be the best way to launch the car? you're saying not to floor it off the line right?
