Well depends on how low you want to go...But I hear they're pretty stiff compared to Comptechs. Comptechs ride very close to stock and no need to worry about scraping, angling, and what not.

if the 1.5", .75" drop works for you, definately get the comptechs. if you want to go lower get the eibach sportline or h&r sport.

Hey man;
I bought some H&R for my Honda Civic, and let
me tell you, the ride was SWEEEEEETTTTT!!!! IT was
exactley like stock, and not bumpy at all. I loved it
and would hella reccommended it everyone that wants
to lower their car. I paid $250 for springs/labor/alignment.

Now if I could only get that deal on my CL, and not need
a camber kit, i wouldl lower it ASAP!!!!

Comptechs are for people who don't want to have to angle every speed bump, dip, driveway, and anything that so much resembles an angle. Also if you put 18"s on...the drop is perfect...no rubbing...no worries. And the drop is actually 1.5 front and 1.0 in the rear. The performance gains are amazing with minimal sacrafice in ride quality. It's up to you man...to each his own...

Actually I am 20 years old...my preference as far as fixing up my ride has become much simplier these days. I want good performance as the next guy does and a clean look without being frowned upon as some ricer who can't make his car look good. ".75" may sound stock, but don't knock it until you tried it. Click on the "Posing" pictures in my sig...you can see the height next to my friend's 996.

I don't know what your problem is with Comptech springs, but fine...do whatever you want...to each his own. I was just trying to help you out, but since I am unable to do that, I'm sorry. Have a wonderful day.

I am easy going...I just didn't want to waste bandwidth arguing over something pointless. People have different opinions and you can only argue so much before you no longer are in good relations with the other person. I am not here to make enemies or burn down bridges. As far as springs, why don't you try the Tein Coilovers? They are expensive...even with the groupbuy in effect for $925 right now, but they will allow you the best adjustment as far as height wise. If you think about it, getting H&R and Koni adjustables will run you atleast $700 to $800, whereas you can get the Teins for $925 shipped and adjust your height. You can adjust it for racing, slam it, or make it look stock...whatever floats your boat. Some people have them already, you can do a search and check it out and get an idea of how they like them. If you still dead set on H&Rs, there is a guy on the Acura-TL.com market that is selling his H&R brand new for like $150 or something. His sn is payyourtoll.

Thanks mattg! . I think I may have only seen one pic of your car man...I've seen more timeslips from you than car pics! Do you have a link to a website or your website with some pics? I wanna check out your ride!

This is what mine looks like with stock rim and H&R sport. I personally think its the perfect height, no scraping and rubbing for me.

How much for the Comptech springs? What else has to be installed with these to finish the whole better ride modding...sways, struts, etc.? How much are those? Where is the best place to order these? How much for install? Take the car to a local shop or like a Midas or something to install them? I would rather the Comptech springs, I don't want too much drop at all. Looking for minimal with better handling.

well personally i think u should invest in some teins i got my H&R Sports and i wasnt really happy with how high the car was off the ground but when i got my system installed my rear dropped 0.5" both sides so its kinda cheating your way to get lower now that i think about it i wish i got teins instead because i'd like to be able to adjust ride height at any given time

well i wanted teins too, but i can't fork out $900. I am only 16 with 1 job. I wanted to get Eibach groundcrontrols, but when I went to go check em out, the auto salon guy said, you're gonna hate coilovers period. He said h&rs are the best ride, and you're not gonna find anything better with a 2in drop. I got a system in the back too, so im prolly gonna have to get the backs .5 higher than the front. my box is heavy as FUK!!!

lol.... eh i can hook u up with brand new H&R Sport Or racing spring for $200 bucks installed... let me know if ur interested....but u have to drive ur ass down to LA for the installation tho...

and as for comptech.... I never liked them.... the front is cool but the back is just not low enough... 1.5/1.5 is accpetable but 1.5/0.75 is just not worth the money. and IMO i hate the raked look....LOoks like someone bent over and waiting for "insert"

Does anybody have all of the statistics for drops of the different springs?? It seems that everybody's most important objective for getting springs is to get them LOWWWW!! But the lower does not necessarily mean the better handling...right? There is such a thing as too low. I agree that the "raked" look does not look all that great. But how about the handling of the Comptech Springs? Is there any that are say 1"/1"? I think 1.75"/1.75" is alot, or am I just not able to imagine it??
