I agree with Scooter, Lou you've put way to much money into your ride already.. If want speed why not just invest in another car like many of us have done and keep you CLS a nice "luxury" car for going out on the weekends? It sounds like money isen't really an issue for you based on the fact that you only have the car for about 1 year and you already have more put into it than most of us on this board. Dumping $12-15K into a Civic could easily get you a low 13, maybe high 12 second car. and you still would have a nice luxury car that is under warrenty for everyday driving. JIMO.. but I agree, the Tranny problem does suck..
Guys I had the best experience with Rallye Acura today that it blew my mind. First of all I called them earlier and asked if they can check it out they said sure come right in. I showed up they took my keys and test drove it, the guy came back and wrote up what his impressions were the rep. told me " you car has to stay with me" so I was gonna ask and before I said a word he said "enterprise rental will be here shortly do you have your driver license and a credit card" I said yes and I waited outside. The rental car came within 15 minutes and drove me to fill out the paperwork for the 2003 chevy impala. Mike at Rallye said that my tranny was past the preliminary stage and it was quite bad actually. Then I asked if headers would be a problem and he said headers have nothing to do with the tranny and he asked me what make. When i responded Comptech he said a those are so beautiful the fit and finish are just spectacular on those headers. At that point I told him that I was afraid to put on the headers and the Brembos and the Titanium bar cause I might switch cause of the tranny he laughed at me and said I have nothing to worry about that they fixed the problem and haven't had any problems with the new tranny. He asked me what the hell Im I waiting for and to put the headers as soon as possible cause i wiil get performance like I wouldn't believe. Dude the whole time I couldn't believe I was talking to a service rep. telling me to put the headers and Brembos cause those are quality parts. So now I have a rental Chevy Impala which sucks hairy moose balls it is the biggest POS I have ever driven and I soon as I got in it I started to miss my Cl-S.

Nate I am so in love with Acura right now specially cause Mike the service rep. was telling me what I was waiting for to put on the headers. He was particularly impressed about the Brembos. Overall they never asked me if I beat on the car or nothing and it really seems they love Comptech product cause when i told him I have the ice-box he said oh I have to test drive your car. The dealer near my house have given me the green light to go all out.....Im gonna have SO MUCH FUN NOW

Wow good to hear that Rallye treated ya the way any Acura customer should be treated. I'll bet your glad you didn't run out and buy something else. Good things come to those who wait.

Good thing about it is that a member of the board works there Ant7701 and Ill be asking if they are doing the right thing for my car and to make sure my car will be fit for sub 14's 1/4 mile

Yeah, I'm on my second one, but I had it replaced in late January, so I've got the "fixed" one right now...

and why are you having to foot the bill for a rental for a repair/replacement that should be a warranty item?

Listen to this $27,900 for a used 2003 6 spd. w/o navi with 2000 miles and they still haven't told me what they are gonna give me for mine. Im working with Montclair acura where I originally bought my car and where my brother-in-law got his Tl-S. So far the guy has been straight up with me and he told me I will be rammed up the ass without lube. Just waiting for the phone-call later on.

my completely unbiased opinion:

either way you'll have a fast car so don't get your panties in a bunch about this.

Ya, if I had it to do over I would get it. Not always easy to do when buying used and set on color, etc...

Lou, glad to hear about the experience you had with that dealer/ service rep. They don't always go that smooth, so you've got a cool dealer One thing I see out of this is that service guys know about the trannys on these cars and they are not trying to shift the problem on to us or the mods as much as they might have in the past. Good to hear it-- Now go get Headers Lou!!

Thats the thing I have a set of Comptech headers sitting in my living room for right now till I decide on how my car reacts with the new tranny and what type of deal I can get.

By the way finding a 6 speed with navi is almost imposible right now or at least its what the dealer told me. The used 6 speed is silver which is not bad but your right Rondog Navi is a must in this day and age.

oh Zeroday I haven't put that aside yet they might offer me much for my car. It seems that whenever I take my car to other dealers they really like the acura

Scooter they want $420 for the installation of the headers so that is certainly out of the question. Plus the strut bar im doing it with your torque wrench right The Brembos only when I decide that this car is mine for good and no 350 Z temptations of 6 speed Cl-S supercharged what are the chances of me having a 400 hp monster unless I win the lottery and get the Porsche turbo or Ferrari 360 Modena but untill then
