GUMOUT...should I use it?

Is Gumout any better than the other fuel injector cleaners out there? Should I even bother with it?

TIA!

Brand name fuels have enough mild detergents in it to keep your fuel system fairly clean if used regularly. That's what really seperates one gas company from another - the fuel additives/formulations. All gas pretty much comes from the same refineries.

I've read fuel injector cleaner can degrade seals due to it's potency. Unless you are experiencing heavy bog under load or roughness that you believe is due to bad spray pattern, I wouldn't use it.

But it's ultimately up to you.

Chevron Gas with Techron. Texaco is the same thing. If you use it regularly, it has the same effect as putting a bottle of Techron cleaner in your tanks every 5K miles. Works for me.

I use redline fuel system cleaner after each oil change. I heard it's the best.

I have used it on older high milage cars, I wouldn't bother using it on the CLS unless you had over 70K miles.
