I cannot wait until those hit the rental car lots! That will be the same mistake they made renting me a Mustang GT from DFW.

The GTO is getting the LS1 engine. That car will be a beast. How heavy is it though?

Quarter mile time is reported in C&D as being around 14.7.

Those are my thoughts on this too, they could have at least spent some time to make it resemble an old GTO....

True that. They should have at least brought back some of the older styling cues like Ford is doing with the Mustang.

Leave it to GM to screw this up at 35K per car.

I like it!! It is gonna be a great car, probably 2nd to the current vette. Holden knows how to make a great performing car, just look at how the HSV performed against the M5.

I'd get a V-8, RWD GTO against any 6-cylinder coupe, IMO. I think it's gonna actually LIVE UP to it's name unlike the current Impala, Monte Carlo etc....

Yeah it certainly does - on paper. Too bad Honda can give the same real world performance with two less cylinders, 90 less hp, and 100 less torque.

I'm with you, i'm not a Pontiac fan but this car is being brought to the U.S. because Bob Lutz wants it. He's a car guy and it's going to deliver.

True, that is great engineering. But there is NOTHING like having MORE cylinders, compare your V-6 to an I-4, and NATURALLY the V-6 will feel less strained compared to an I-4, no matter the power ratings. A Town Car has "only" 210" hp rating but it never feels like it is struggling, though it is slower than our cars.

I don't think Lutz is gonna try and sell any B.S.
