Grinding noise from the engine bay

Grinding noise from the engine bay
Since I swapped in the J32 I notice grinding noise coming from the engine bay. It only happens or I can only hear it when I'm near a complete stop or completely stopped (example/ car rolling into the garage). The sound becomes louder if I turn the steering wheel. So I can put the car in drive, hold the brakes, turn the steering wheel and the sound will become louder. It makes the sound when I'm in park as well but only if I lightly step on the throttle. Turning the steering wheel in P doesn't make the sound. Any ideas as to what the problem is?
Also note that the car feels really sluggish in D4. Seems to take alot of effort to get the car to pass another car on the highway for a J32 + SC car. I don't recall needing to step on the throttle so much with my J30 + SC. When I drive in D3 the car is wayyyy more responsive. I do remember there was this plate on the J32 engine (where the tranny mount to the motor)before it was swapped. I'm wondering if that plate was meant for the 5AT on the CL-S and if my 4AT plate from the J30 motor was needed . Also not sure if the swappers switched that plate.
