grinding noise

Whenever i brake and come to a comeplete stop it i hear a grindin noise on my left right tire. Then when i start to drive it does it then goes away. It's not really a sqeaking noise just grinding. But it's so loud i can hear and feel it thru out the bottom of the car. Does this sound like the brakes or something worse?

sounds like a brake pad thats been worn to the plate and is grinding into the rotor. happened to me. my caliper froze so the one with the wear indicator was fine but the other pad was worn away to the plate and out of no where started grinding into my rotor.

Sounds like the brakes then... with 74K miles they might not have been touched yet, or the original owner might have had them looked at early on in the cars life...

I had my front pads and rotors turned at 22K miles due to warping, so I'll probably be looking at getting them done again at 75-100K miles.

Sounds like the brakes. If you get them done at Acura, they may rape you on cost. If you do it at a private mechanic, it will depend on the state of your rotors.

Before I got my Rotora's, I had to get all the brakes redone, and it cost about $250. And that was with needing new front rotors and the rears needed to be resurfaced.
