Got UR Pulleys... BUT

I can't get that damn crank pulley bolt off!!! I tried it when it was hot, cold, wet, dry... name it.

Also... for whomever's done this themselves... how did you get it off without a really torque impact wrench?

FRUSTRATED!

Thing is that I don't have an impact gun. I put a crow-bar on the hub and tried my very best... couldn't budge it!

Let me think about this...!!

theres this way to take it off...risky though....it was posted on av6.com but we moved to another site and its lost...well you need breaker bar(piping) that is long enough to fit on the wratchet and rest the bar on the frame of the car...turn the engine over for a quik sec and it should spin loose...when ur ready to put it back on use alot of threadlock...the red ones are the extra strenght ones ...have fun

if you dont need to reuse the bolt, you can take a can of compressed air, turn it upside down, and spray it for a good minute or so. then wack it with something good and hard and you might be able to shatter it. probably not the best method, but its fun to try

(compressed air cans shoot out liquid N2 i think when you spray them upside down)

Davediego, been doing some bike stealing lately. That's a common way to brake bike locks.

Take it to a local shop and just have them loosen it , then tighten it but not animal-tight . Then when u get home it should come right off...they shouldn't charge too much

I don't know about cranking it with a breaker-bar... might just take it somewhere to loosen it!

I have an electric impact-gun... serves my purpose so far...

This has been done for years, but I've never heard anyone refering to it as being risky before. It'll work, and I'm not sure where the risk is. Some motors spin the wrong way though.

My mechanic used that chain thing and wrapped it around the crank pulley. He wrapped it around so that it wouldn't turn while turning the bolt in the middle of the pulley. It was a bitch and he's ASE/Honda Cert. and everything.
