got smoked!!

I went to the midnight races on Saturday and I ended up racing an old SC400. Damn...I got smoked by 1 car length. It took me a while to get traction. Does anyone know how many horses the SC has and what does it do in a 1/4 mile? Maybe I would've done better if I didn't have 3 other girls in the car ... or maybe my rims are too heavy...

my mom has a 94 and i think it has like 225-260 hp or something. I've completely forgot but i know it's a v8. 3 other girls in your car could be a culprit every 100 lbs equals .1 of a second

my mom and bestfriend have told me to tell you guys to stop telling me to spend my money; they are tired of my automobiles getting pampered and them getting whats left over which usually consists of change I find in my car by doing things you guys encourage

There is no reason you should have been beaten by this car. My mother owns one and I have driven it on a regular basis. The lexus sc400 has a 4.0-liter DOHC 32-valve V-8, 250 hp. But, here are the times for this car. Magazine review - The car can fly to 100km/h (62.5mph) from a standstill in the low-7 second bracket and can whisk down the quarter mile in 15.2 seconds.

Well...considering it was my first time racing the CL, I had 3 other people in my car, 19s, and a full system, that should be a good enough reason why I lost. Like I said, I couldn't get traction, and the SC being a rear-wheel drive, and only him the car, he took me off the line.

Gee, with the 19" wheels, 3-people, and a "full ?sound? system", you would probably need to start 30 feet ahead. If those 19" wheels are heavy, you will realy get punished (and yes I know the big wheels look very nice).

This is true for the earlier ones but the later ones had the 290 HP V8 in them. Pretty quick, would definetly beat the type S with 4 girls in them.

The new lexus sc400 has:
Engine: VVTi* DOHC 4-valve 4.0 Liter V8
Horsepower: 290 @ 6000 RPM
Torque: 300 @ 4000 RPM
0-60: 6.5 seconds
1/4: 14.7 seconds @ 93 mph
Top speed: 149 mph

But of course the 4 girl factor does play a role But the race with one person in each car would still be close even against the new sc400.

Speaking of the lexus SC400, I was under the impression that they stopped making them a few years back, but my friend disagreed and told me they were being made until replaced by the current 2002 sc430. Any feedback on this?

The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

Your friend is right. Too bad they made it look like a POS. Messed up the whole image of that car!

I saw one pretty Asian girl in a black CL-S last week. She paid me no mind in my little Green 4-door GrandAm GT though.

Now that I have my CL-S, I'll probably never see her again.

I raced with an older Sc400 on freeway recently & I was able to beat him after third gear (100+mph).The 1st & 2nd he's about half a car lenght ahead of me.
After 125+mph I lost him completely.
Older Sc400= 250 HP
