Got smocked by a Lincoln Continental!

Man, those mothers can haul ass I guess.
Not from the line.

I am driving down an open road, gaining from about 80 to 100. Cruzing at 100 and I see a car in the rear view gaining on me. I cannot believe my eyes when a black dude in a continental is just blowing by me. WTF. So i try to hang with him by downshifting to 4th and he was just pulling on me. I was being cautious because I was not about to race him in above 100 territory . So while I was able to hang with him, I could not overtake the mother. God damn FORD just pulling away. This was a newest bodystyle continental. I guess it was a v8.

I believe it has the same engine as the Mustang GT, maybe a little different. A 4.6L with 260 or 275 hp.

Heck, once he gets rolling, you'll never beat his inertia factor.

Yo man, you have no idea how much I want to be there, but unfortunatelly I have my graduation on Saturday and while I considered skipping graduation for the Acura meet, I think I really should attend. So maybe next one, but I think you will do an excellent job representing Philadelphia and surrounding neighboorhoods.
On a separate thought, I think we should have a NJ/PA meet in philly. I know we have at least 10 members local and maybe more lurkers. What do you think?

one word... GEARING. You're not gonna pull on anything in 4th gear in this car.

Well, I did downshift to 3rd to stay with him, but I really did not want to try hard to pass this guy. I was going over 100 as is and did not feel the need to race at these speeds because while the car is stable, I really need to have some spring/tire upgrade before racing at these speeds. I was trying to be cautious while keeping face.
