it was 2001 cobra...6 speed..this guy was at the red light hitting his gas and i knew we wanted to race me so i was stupid and raced him and i got my ass kicked badly...i knew i was gonna get whooped but not that bad....man that shit wasnt even funny...when he got to the next light he laughed at me and then took off again...r the cobra's suppose to b that fast

'97 and up are that fast. The new ones are not noteably faster.

im sorry you are wrong, the Cobra R does 0-60 in 4.8. not the regular cobra

 

Cobra owners sure can be cocky. A lot of them seem to be like Vette owners in that way.

'01 Cobra would be a 5 speed stock, no Mustang as of yet has had a 6 speed.

The DOHC Cobras are '96+, they are all high 13s stock (assuming decent drive/track/weather).

The '99 and '01 Cobra have a bit more horsepower then the '96-'98 (usually 10/10 on the dyno). That extra power is countered by the independent rear though when you go to the strip as it gives pretty bad wheelhop.

Good effort though, chief. I'll tell you what, next time I see an '01 Cobra, I'll smoke him for you.

By reading some of your posts on this forum, you seem to be quite the "opposite" of cocky. I respect that . It seems like you have equal respect for us Acura guys even though you drive a Ford Mustang SVT Cobra.

Thanks chief. No need for me to talk smack, I have a fairly quick car, but there's always faster cars and better drivers.

It's funny how the real smack talkers on this board (some Maxima owners) drive a car that IMO is a hair slower than the CLS stock, equal track/driver/weather.

 

You can take your headers, CAI, even nitrus... you won't beat a '01 Cobra.
