Got rear ended last week

Coming home from school. Ive never been in an accident where I was driving before. I was going down a road with a 45mph limit, kids behind me in a cavalier were tailgating me. They were getting probably inches away from my bumper, the worst tailgating ever. Behind them were two redneck looking trucks, also driving erratically, flashing their lights. All three were swerving back and forth, slowing down and then flying up to my bumper.

So I came to an intersection, light was red, two cars already stopped. Cavalier behind me didnt, hit me. I pull over, cavalier does as well and the two other trucks. I get scared a bit, so I lock my doors and get ready to call the cops because I thought they might have done it on purpose. But then some kids got out of the cavalier, jumped into the trucks and gunned it out of there. At that point I got out, damage didnt look too bad, only spiderwebbing of the bumper paint and some scratches, felt ALOT worse than what the bumper showed. The two guys left from the cavalier were shirtless for some reason, the driver was shaking, stuttering, just overall freaked out. He proceeds to suggest we dont go to our insurance, i said maybe so he would be satisfied. I just wanted to get it over with so I got his info and left.

Anyway, it really didnt look like much, but my neck hurt for a couple of days. Went to get an estimate through his insurance, their estimated total=$420.53, to get the bumper repainted. Actual total=$2,071.84, because when the shop took off the bumper they saw that the cushion was cracked, the bumper bar was bent, and some panels were bent too. Made alot more sense to why I felt such a hard hit. This was the body shop of Piazza Acura for anyone local, they did a great job!

Had a '10 Hyundai Accent for a rental for the 5 days it was in the shop. So weak. XM satellite was the only plus.

I know you guys like photos, but I only have afters because it didnt look like much at all, oh and the rental, for fun.

It looks like the bumper is a hair lower then the 3/4 panel in the last pic.

Hows the paint match?

The Hyundai was terrible, no power, manual door locks and windows. The suspension was super soft compared to the cl's, which was a nice break on the whole pothole avoidance, I just ran right over them without a thought. His insurance gave me a check for the 420, the other $1600 worth of supplemental damage was dealt with by the shop.

The paint isnt perfect, but I do think it was good for a match to like 9 year old paint. Although, I have no experience with repainted cars so I wouldnt really know what a good match is.
