Got A New Ride :)

just bought an '03 cl-s 6 speed yesterday. blue, spoiler, no navigation and only 14,000 miles. best part - I paid $17,500...

...unfortunatly I have to wait untill next week to register it and get it on the road. its going to be a tough couple of days.

congrats on the new ride. hope you did a carfax and have it looked over by a mech. 03 with only 14k miles sounds to good to be true.

Great Price for the mileage... Congrats, welcome to the forum, and welcome to the 6spd club.

@ the other comments... I paid $29.5K for mine w/ 35 miles on it

Every time I read a thread like this, I promise myself I'll never buy a new car again...

With the prices (due to depreciation) on these things now, I might as well keep mine forever

The CLS (and especially the 6spd version) is one of the best bangs for the bucks out there on the used car market...

I don't know if it's me, but I've been feeling that my stock struts are wearing out.. My car feels more "floatly" and "boatlike" lately... Maybe because I've got my OEM tires back up front (w/ the yoko V4's in back now)...

If the struts are going, that'll mean I'll have the springs out, and while I'm in there... H&R 50103's and Tokico Blues

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies/ kind words.

I know It did sound too good to be true. I had my mechanic (former boss) look it over very throughly bc I had my suspisions about it. no probs (except it need a new battery) - not even a speck of rust under it.

I got it on the road saturday and still learning the clutch, very diffrent than my roomates mustang GT.

I spend the entire day detailing it and just enjoying it.

lol - I bought it private party. actually I was looking at an '03 cl-s 6 speed at a local dealer (18K) and they wanted $23,900... Im sure they would have dropped a grand

- so i figure I saved ~$5,000....

damn man congrats thats a steal..im sure the price is that way because it was private party. i dont know who or what type of person the seller was but im sure it was someone that needed to get rid of the car and possibly under estimated its value..lucky you!! did carfax check out without any accidents? thats the only reason i can think of that would drop the price so much.

i bought my 03 six speed from the ac dealership back in april on my bday (nice self-given present hehe) and paid 22.5k with 30k miles...but it already had comptech headers and ice box which was a good reason to pay the price i did..seeing your price still makes me feel a lil ripped tho! lol

14,000 miles?!!? That's got to be the lowest on the board.

Oh, and congratulations.

well i just broke 15,000 yesterday (bought it with 14,7XX miles - ive been driving alot ) - the carfax and title were clean.

the seller claimed he had 2 small children and needed more money - he used it as a summer car - hence the low millage and no rust.

he also said he was having trouble selling it bc of the 6-speed. - it was being advertised for $19,999. i offered $17,500 and he towed it from MI (8.5 hours) a week later.

I guess i didnt realize how good of a deal this was. thanks guys

hey, no mods planned right now, but Ive never keep a car completly stock for too long. seeing the car is still under warrenty, ill wait untill that runs up too change anything.

Im into the 'clean' look - so nothing visual other than some nice, big chrome wheels. the car has tints and a spoiler already.

id really like to do a navi conversion - but the kits are pretty pricey - and I dont know how much practical use i would really get out of it.

as for performance mods - im new to imports - so ill do some reading and see where it takes me.

Hi all, 1st post here. That's a really sweet deal you got, joed!

My dad bought a new '03 AT CL-S w/o navi and sold it in fall of '04 with 15K for $21,600 (not a scratch on it). With sales tax he took a $10,000 hit for a little over a year's worth of driving .

When I look at the classifieds these days the dealers around here want more for the same car even with 40K or 50K+ miles.

THANKS AGAIN.

ive been driving non-stop since i got it, any excuss to use the car and im gone....

and I found a couple prospective buyers for my old vechile ('98 grand cherokee 5.9 limited) which i still have

im having the CL professionally detailed this week - im not satisfied with the condition of the interior after my attempt at cleaning it (car sat for a long time) - it still looks....dull. got a deal on that too ($40) my buddy works there

im finding that this vechile is much more difficult to shift 100% smooth as compared to other sticks ive driven (mustang gt's, camaros/ TA's). the clutch is light and ultra percise.
