Got a new car today!!!

2001 White Civic LX 4 door.

I got a good deal after spending from 10:00~8:00 at the dealer! LONGEST DEAL EVER in my LIFE! but got the car for 14.5 out the door. worked my self down from 16.2.
I also check out the honda insight. didn't know they also came in auto. tho it gives only 58mpg vs 68. The inside of the gauge cluster looked really cool but only 1 lt under the hood. Okay back to my civic. I know i know its a civic but I was just too tired and sick of getting my S banged up everytime I go to the mall or somewhere w/ tight parking. I probably won't do anything to the car since my mom will be driving it occasionaly may be 20 miles a month. For now the S is under the car cover taking a break.

Where is everyone getting all this money to have a lot of cars?

Did you get the auto because of your mom?

yeah mom's car was a 90 acclaim and barely passed emmsion. she only drives about 20 miles a week. just to drop my sister off at piano lessons. The car payment is onlly 200 a month so not that bad. and this car is for my daily communte to work and driving stick in traffic here will cramp my leg up by the time I get to work.

If I'm spending 30k for a car, then another 15k because I am afraid to drive the 30k car, then I would be going for a 40k car in 3 letters, and a used beater for around town.
You do know that 30k is average price for a car today, minivans and suv's run about 30k. Our cl-s is not really luxury priced.

I don't get why you did this????

the reason why is my mom's car was falling apart. puffing smoke, not passing emmsion, and the brakes were out. Just doing the family a favor and saving the S for the weekends. plus I wanted a car to beat around. only 200 a month jeez

You're not going to install a license plate holder on your new Civic that sez, "My other car is a CL-S"?

Those are all very good reasons for getting the Civic.

I just bought another car also, but I went with a used '94 Subaru Legacy L, for under $3K. This is the first time I have ever owned two cars at the same time and the first time I have owned a SEDAN!!

My main reason for buying is to NOT have to drive the CL-S in the winter. I plan on putting the Acura in a garage for the 'ugly' months.

As for the Subaru, although it has high mileage, it runs great, is in excellent body condition, gets super fuel efficiency AND it has a 5-speed!! I have to admit I am REALLY enjoying that last part.

Anyway, good luck with the Civic! Enjoy the CL-S whenever you WANT!!

minla i went to landmark honda. stayed there from 10:00 in the morning till 8:00 at night. I brought a live check for 7000 and was like I want to buy a car and I want to take it home today. Whats your best price? They basicaly said msrp p+ 100 which was like 16.6. So I was like okay, I ain't got no where to go, Im gonna be here until I get the price I want. So i decided to camp out. I had breakfest/lunch/dinner at the vending machine, met with ALL the sales reps, the finance guys, the service guys too. Also testdrove EVERYSINGLE honda. except teh s2k. they didn't have the s2k on the lot. EVEN the honda ODDESYY!!! I also found out that the honda insight has an automatic. w/ a 1.lt engine and less than 100 hp. The guage cluster loooked really cool since it was all digital. After spending about 9 hours at the dealer camping out the GM finally came to me and said. okay we'll give you the car for INVOICE!! I think he kinda wanted me to leave. I then signed off the deal and took the car home! ONe thing I did learn is that if you camp out and roast the dealers ALL DAY LONG you'll win. so from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm i saved over 2000. Oh they also dropped the processing fee which was 199.00 after haggling for like 30 min.

Yeah, there are a lot of people who get two cars. I got a great deal on a 2001 Civic EX coupe, 5-speed in blue. It was $14,400 before tax and license! For anyone in So Cali interested in getting a good price, see Joe Davis at Costa Mesa Honda.

I can’t say enough about the Civic. My first new car was a Civic. It’s reliable, gets excellent mileage, has all the convenience (on EX trim) and has decent pick up with the 5-speed.

I'm not sure if this was a problem only in my cousin's civic, or if it was all of them. I got really annoyed that everytime I broke the car hard, the seat belt would lock up. NORMALLY this is fine cause like in our car or every other car out there, it would release once the brake was let go. Not this one. It would actually stay locked to where I had to unbuckle the belt while the car was still in motion.

I gotta tell you, you're my hero, because you beat the scumbag dealers at their own game! You ground them down and wore them out until they finally got so sick of you they gave in. That's frickin awesome...I'm gonna try that next time I buy a car.

yup, just dress very nicely so they take you seriously, and bring your camping gear(magazines or a book) oh and after you negociate your price you can negociate it even further AFTER they pull your credit history and give u a apr. Just say, oh man I made a big mistake, I don' think I can offerd this car w/ this kind of payment. They'll go NUTS!!!! and cut like another 5~15 bucks off your monthly payment. like they did for me. 5X60 months = 300 15X60= 900 off your total price. If they aren't willing to do that make them throw in some extra warranty! If I only knew to do this when I was getting my S. when I was getting my typeS i was so eager to take that sucka home I just said, okay, okay, sign here, sign there, WHERE"S MY CAR!!

If you're just gonna get a bitch car why not just get used? Much cheaper and when you get dinged or scratched you can just smile.
