Got my first kill today!
I've had my CLS for a year now and have never had a chance to take someone at a light. Well, that all changed this morning on my way to work.. I stop at a red light not planning on much when I see a black Chevy Monte Carlo SS pull right next to me. We both look at each other and he starts nudging his car past mine. Next thing I know the light turns green and both of us take off. I pulled a car lenght ahead of him and then he just flashes his brights on and off!!
Just out of curiousity, how much does the Monte Carlo SS weigh and what's the HP and torque on that puppy? Can the CLS beat the SS everytime or did I just get a better start??

Thanks Vinny.. It feels pretty good having my first kill under my belt.. I guess the guy was pretty curious about the CLS since he was eyeing it from bumper to bumper...

I don't know where you picked up the 3800lb figure...
the 200hp figure is correct, though.
stoplight to stoplight, the monte probably isn't too bad (it has 225 ft-lbs of torque moving 100 fewer pounds) but anything beyond that and it's out of its element.

My little bro has an all white SS, that car sucks ass! No speed. It's ok for him, he thought the 4 tailpipes on the back made his car fast. When we met up two weeks ago (he's stationed at Fort Bragg) we had a friendly race and I blew the paint off of his car.

Hmmm, maybe Chevy will pay more attention to the Monte Carlo after the Camaro is dead and buried.. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to put the V8 from the Camaro and put it into the Monte Carlo.. Since this morning I have found new respect and excitement from my CLS..

Actually according to a buddy of mine that works for Pontiac and in this months Hot Rod magazine the Australian Holden is likely to be the new replacement for the now defunct F-bodies. It looks to be a worthy replacement Ls1 power with a 6 spd room for 4 unfortunately the looks leave a little to be desired. It looks like a cross between an Acura and the new Neon. I think I'll stick with my Grand National, sleeper looks and turbo power
