Angry got into an accident

So it was just another ordinary day driving down my street and slam! out of no where im spinning around! Some young girl ran a stop sign and hit me....my rear wheel is bent sideways. Looks worse in person than in the picture and it looked like even the wheel on the other side might have been tilted slightly. The rear bumper is hanging off and the quarter panel is dented in. Also now my airbag light is on(they did not deploy)its been a few days and havent heard anything of it....Her insurance is going to cover it. Right now im questioning if it will be totaled or not....... It looks fixable but i dont know just how many parts will need to be replaced behind the wheel or even the costs. In all honestly i love the cl but i dont want a car with mismatching paint and i also dont want to deal with the depreciated value when i go to sell it one day and people complaining that its been in an accident. I dont want the body shop trying to cut costs and fixing it. If it will be repaired does anyone have any advice or opinions?

The last thing you have to worry about is depreciation. These cars are worthless cuz the auto tranny..

Eh it probably isn't totaled, getting hit in the rear suspension like you did is much much better than getting hit in the front because of the worry for an axle getting crushed into the tranny and causing internal damage.

Im guessing that is probably $3-4K in damage max. I really don't feel there is any suspension damage and getting hit that way I'm almost sure that no airbags deployed.

Also, with depreciated value on the car. Depending on your state, make sure you talk to the insurance company about "diminished value" they are dealing with this more and more. It addresses the issue you're talking about with your car losing value due to the accident. They will offer you a financial payout after the repairs for the lose of value in your car. Once again this depends state to state and is not always easy to prove.

I wouldn't worry, a good body shop can fix this accident with no problem just make sure they blend the areas good. And work something extra into it, tell them you want all the dents taken out of the car also.

This will be fixed, good luck, glad you're okay.

You'll have to wait until they take it apart to se what the exact cost is, but i'm guessing there is a fair bit of suspension damage. It sounds like she hit you pretty hard, and if your left rear wheel is off a bit, you might have some rear subframe damage. It's hard to tell.

And best way to avoid a shoddy repair is to go to a reputable shop, do your research. Only problem is that insurance company may not recommend the best shops, and if you go to one they don't recommend, I believe they only pay out the quote from their recommended shops.

Oh, I misspoke when I said there is no suspension damage. I meant there is most likely no frame damage.. There is definitely going to be some suspension damage but being in the rear it shouldn't be that extensive.

ive hit 2 cars with my CL a 96 GSR 4dr Integra and a 2007 C230 Mercedes both times my airbag light came on and no airbags... i disconnected the battery and it went away... probly not smart but i had just paint scuffs on my car ( both low speed hits aka i got brake checked) so there wasnt enough force to set it off.
with a side impact like that the side airbags should go off if hit hard enough..... but u seem to be under the rating to go off. my advise for this is simple... get it fixed= u have no idea how they did it. or whats really fixed. probly wont drive right ever again... take the check and get a 6-speed= no tranny issues (better tail lights cough cough)
i wish someone would either buy mine or total it so i can get a 6 speed

My car got hit very similarly but on the front wheel when it was parked. i had it parked next to a curb so noone would scrape me but some lady talking on a cell phone while driving in a parking lot floored the gas instead of hitting the brake jumped the curb/medium and smashed right into my wheel/fender/door. My repairs consisted of the body work, refurbished wheel replacement, and replace the control arm on the side i was hit. My airbags never deployed or light never came on. Also before I had my 03 cl i had an 01 cl-p that was totaled in a 50 mph almost head on collision but was at a slight angle with more force on driver side front. Airbags never deployed then either, acura gave me some BS excuse for why they didnt blaming it on the angle i think. Thinking back on it when a car is parked and not running will the airbags still go off if it is hit?

i think it takes alot to get an airbag to actually go off. moms car was hit at 50mph in the rear at a red light no airbags. but when my friend brence flipped his RSX the airbags did go off. so maybe i should flip my car and see if they go off...lol

I'm sorry to see that man. Ask around and see where people take their cars to get fixed. If you are going through insurance, sometimes they have "preferred shops" that they will tell you to take it to.

If taken to the right body shop, you will NOT notice it's been in an accident.

What's kind of weird is I passed by the lot that its supposed to be last night and I did not see my car there..also I called them today about it and they were like "what car?" And never called back. I called them a few times again and they never answered.....kinda sketched out lol...but I will keep you guys updated....hopefully its totaled so I can get a 6 speed!

I believe you have to be 25 to legally rent a car, so you may not get one.

I know that the rental car is insured by your company under your plan, so you should be good to go as far as rental.

Depends on the state. In Minnesota they will recommend a shop but you can bring it to any shop and they have to pay. Usually goto a local chain that does mostly custom work and is super expensive but does the best job out there. The only customers they usually get is insurance claims because people aren't spending the kinda money they charge otherwise.

Depends on the state. Some states allow you to rent a car at 21 but you have to pay a bit more.
