sup fellas......I'm finally rdy to replace my clutch so i can then It's been a long time since I've gotten the facts about replacing our clutches/flywheel. I'm really lookin for no bs facts about the options. Back in the day it was oem or comptech. Is comptech still the way to go? and if so who can tell me the cheapest way to have sent to my crib for the cheapest price? (i.e. name of business/website and price)

TYVM in advance

Check out this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...clutch+options

Are you looking for more power? If not, based on your mods, just go OEM.

if youre looking to upgrade i would look at the clutchmasters and get the ring gear replaced with the oem one.

civcdrvr has one and he says its nice.

i like the oem because of the feel. but it doesnt hold power

yeah im only like plus 40 hp atm, but I just finally got out of the military and I'm either goin to put all the crap I have in storage on the car (body kit, unfinished speaker box, unfinished interior, and turbo only no set up) on the car or just give it to my lil brother. which is funny because he drives my old 01. As of right now I'm looking for a setup which can hold 500 hp but not impossible to drive in everyday traffic

No need to replace the ring gear on the new version, they fixed it.

The CM is a nice setup, I love mine, but if youre worried about price Id go OEM flywheel and pressure plate with the P2R disc. The CM stage 3 clutch (what I have) sells for ~$1200. You should be able to get the OEM stuff with the P2R disc for around $700, maybe less as I havent looked at prices lately.

Whatever you go with though, make sure you delete the dampening device and mod the slave cylinder.

Forgive my ignorance please, but would you say hands down the p2r disc is superior in performance and is of similar durability? The reason I ask is because my boy just lost a bet with me and is now doing my clutch for free. god bless large breasted lesbians

so now i'm ordering something today. The stock disc is 138 bucks but if I can get a better one for cheap of course I will.

I bought my car 5 years ago and the day i got it the clutch was worn (think a woman owned it) and now @ 200k its finally starting to slip. As far as close to stock goes the oem clutch was gtg.

all input is very much appreciated

I'd only put a OEM in my car. But YMMV.
Do you need a clutch now? If not use it till it dies.

My brother bought a CM stage 4 ceramic disc 6 puck for his CL.

I saw *SOME* people have problems with the CM stage 1 and 3 but it was with the old ring gear. never heard any problems with the stage 4...

$191 from same site? reason i dont buy from p2r is bc their shipping charges are 2-3 times more than what other sites ship for

If you're going to go with the OEM disk, PM me. I've got one I can sell you brand new. I've got the CM flywheel and disk so when I bought the Acura OEM Clutch kit, I only use the pressure plate and I've got a spare friction disks that I can't use.

Its dual mass and not many places know how to resurface it properly. It can be done though.

Rajca - The flywheels are all the same. Disc and PP are the differences. Stage 1 can hold slightly more then stock with little extra pedal effort, there is no stage 2, stage 3 can hold over 500hp with a definate increase in pedal feel and a quick engagement, stage 4 can hold alittle more then 700hp, is available with a 6 puck or a 4 puck disc (4 puck being more aggressive) and engages even quicker then the stage 3.

Thank you everyone for all the input.....I ordered a stock disc, plate and throw out bearing. The truth is I got enough other things to do to be able to wait on an upgraded clutch. plus with my boy doin it for free. It really don't matter right now. new factory = Do all the body work, put bags back on, finish sound/interior and get some better wheels before pursuing 500 hp. not to mention I need to still need to finish my truck and will be buying my next truck after school is over in a year. 55 f-100 ftw. can't wait. I just got out of the military and just trying to get it all done in the right order without stressing about it. Thanks for all the facts again

When you say bags Im assuming youre planning on using either airbags or hydros. That + 500hp is going to mean stupid amounts of wheel hop. Good luck though.

Are you 100% on the new ring gear?

I have it. I had to wait over a month from the time I ordered because I ordered right when they changed it. 7k miles on it so far and there are no odd starter noises. And I literally counted the teeth on the ring gear and it in fact does have 123 teeth.
