Got the E-manage today...
Everything looks good. I find that the paragraph on the box cover is hilarious though.
It appears that they just translated it from Japanese to English directly and it totally doesn't make sense:

"GReddy e-manage" is excellent in the generality and the expansion. And it is a low price further. Therefore, you can direct an engine to economy, easily. The dealer of the product of GReddy of the whole country supports "e-manage." Then, you are relieved, and you can choose it. Future tuning begins first from "e"

Yea, try calling GReddy. Their spoken English is generally the same. Everytime I call them with some tuning advice they have problems understanding or say their techs are out to lunch. One day their techs were out to lunch for 6 hours. :ghey: However, there is one guy there that is really good. I can't remember his name now though.

I also find it odd that the connector from the E-manage to the computer is a USB <-> Serial connection.
I guess it is a serial connection at the computer so that the connector can be screwed in and secured so that it doesn't fall out during driving, etc?

I love when the directly translate stuff on foreign products. I vaguely remember reading a box for a chainsaw that said something about not cutting your leg with the chain or something. good stuff.more on topic... kinda: Would the e-manage work for the first gen? Since the timing can only be retarded with the emanage on the second gens due to something with the way the signal is delivered, would it be the same for the first gens or can you advance the timing on the first gen's with hte emanage? The e-manage seems to be exactly the same as a VAFC with a bunch of extra features, and it plugs into a computer. am I right in looking at it like that?

@ BestBuyI don't have a floppy drive in my laptop so to install that patch in the software I need to copy the floppy disk to my desktop, then email the file to myself and then download it on the laptop and then install it. *sigh*

The retailer of the product of GReddy of the complete supports the countries it price increase. Then you are relieved, and you can select them.

It also comes with a floppy disk and it says to replace one file with the file that is on the disk. It is an upgraded US language pack.

crap I forgot about that... going to save the floppy to CD now before I forget.
I have a USB to USB for the Greddy E-manage. I got the cable from a guy name Simon. The cable was around $75. He incorporates a chip in the end of the plug so it can decode the text from the main unit(emanage). If you are interested i can give you his email address so you can contact him

Well the shop that did my UniChip has tuned numerous NSX's with Comptech kits that are running the e-mange for tuning so I plan on having it done there. Although, the unit is already pre-loaded with Scalbert's map, so it will only need a few adjustments (hopefully) to get it running where it should be. The problem is just finding time to get it done.

I have no problem with the serial port, I just found it odd at first. Serial ports = old skewl

The manuals are about as good. I tried calling them once and decided against that route for future information. If you really want to get into it, subscribe here:

Steve,
Clear something up for me. To avoid running uber rich, I WILL need the FPR re-cal installed along with the e-manage if I wish to install the e-manage prior to the I/C install.
Running the e-manage w/o backing down fuel pressure via the re-cal will make the mixture even more rich. Correct?

Will do, thanks.
