The market is so uncertain. Give all of it to your finacial advisor unless you already have a nest egg. If you dont have a financial advisor, GET ONE.

Drop IT. Get some Coilovers. A Cold Air Intake will sound great with that straight pipe. Headers will be great too. OOOORRRR... You can get some new "shoes" for your ride. 2500 can get you some things man.

DECENT rims + coilovers + camber kit + tires + alignment will run you over $2500

unless you get them used.

$500 for coilovers, $250-300 for front and rear camber kits, $60 alignment, now you have about $1700 for rims + tires. all used

but i rather spend half and save half.

the REAL question si do u wanna go faster or look nicer? Then we can point you on the right direction.
FASTER-Intake$200 Headers $100(XS) Pulleys $300 Quaility Coilovers + Alignment + Camber kits $1200 (Estimate)=$1800 with about $700 left to splurge on dumb shit and gas lol
Look Better- Rims Depends on what kind you get. Since you dont plan on going faster then weight doesnt matter which means you can get a rim and tire package from some online company for $1000 (18inch rims), then quality coilovers remains @ $1200 that leaves with with $300 to do little things like bulbs and other minor cosmetics.

But it all depends on what your looking for

if you are like me and you aim for increased aesthetics rather than increased speed in your car, go with
-tein ss coilovers (if you can find a good pair of used ones maybe 600-700)
-window tints 150-200
-rims/tires 1600
-debadge your trunklid under 10 dollars for googone
-LED interior light conversion should be bout 50
-6000+ HID bulbs 40-100 used

so no camber kit, well i guess if u dont have tires with the rims u dont have to worry about tread wear... since they're $850, they won't last long anyway....

c'mon, a drop needs camber kit(s), rims need tires.... plus don't get some shitty rims, they do crack...

Got my 200 shares at $58 and change.

Gonna sell them when it hits the big 120!!!

Oh and original poster:

$2500 can pimp your ride for sure. Like people here said, decide if you want performance, looks, or combination of both.

If you want the cake, bakery, and the baker's daughter:

XS headers
Coilovers
Sways
cold air intake
Total = around 1k

get a set of nice ass rims for around 1k or bodykit for about the same

spend the other $500 on some sparco seats/belts to make it feel racy

$800 buys you a nice set of coilovers that most can install on their own.

i don't know why anybody would spend money to make a FWD car have more power. the 3.5 tl has so much torque steer that its absurd to try and drive it flat out. if you have to spend the cash i'd put it into a stereo, suspension, a better sounding exhuast, or cosmetic like a spoiler, wheels, or something like that.

having a 6 speed is really the best solution.

PLAN A: get it all into 2500 singles, fill up gas tank and drive it to a certain night spot...oh and maybe a comfy pillow for your backseat?

look, we're all gonna say different things, looks like you're just screaming out "look at me, im rich blah". if you're gonna blow it all anyway, why not ask which mods are best for the money so you can have some left over...it only looks like you'll be $2500 poorer pretty soon, but at least plan A would be the most memorable...you know since you enjoy blowing money and all!!

Go to a good dealership and they will cover your transmission even if it is out of warranty.

i would play with $500 for now and save the other portion. if u don't have a saving's account this is the good time to start or open a cd account (certificate of deposit) and let the intrest compound for years to come.

don't have to blow it all at one time.
