Gonna install 245/40ZR-17's on my CL-S tomorrow

Toyo T1-S Proxes 245/40ZR-17 going on my non-lowered CL Type S tommorrow. Rims are SSR Competition 17X8" rims with +48 offset. Results of a full road course with rubbing comments will be posted tomorrow if I have time as well, but I'm leaving town till Monday so it may have to wait until then.

I put a set of Goodyear Eagle GSC's on our stock 17"x7" stock rims .... with no rubbing five ppl in car under tire sliding cornering with no rubbing. I dont know about the 8" I dont know if that will make a difference. Just my experience with mine!

Installed the 245's. No rubbing at all so far. I did full turns, hard breaking, steering wheel turned to locked position all the way left and right, etc... Now, this was just with me in the car, but still, it's a good sign. Oh, and can I say "WOAH!" talk about grip. 245/40ZR-17 Toyo T1-S are VERY VERY grippy :-)

I'll have pictures and more detail up Monday night.

Whoa! Looking forward to the pictures! Noticed any decrease in acceleration?

Decrease can you say less wheel spin!!! The car jus hooks up and launchs if you do it right. It will still spin them in WOT!

Are you saying it affects acceleration in a bad way? From your statement, I am assuming you're saying it launches well and your 1/4 mile time improves?

You need to update your sig.

The 245/40-17s are now 1.5 lbs lighter per tire (than the 235/45s) -- you can add 6 lbs to your rotational diet

Your torque will be up by 3% as well...

Updated! I plan on doing some g-tech runs this weekend as well...

Is the 3% increased torque due to the smaller O.D.?

Technique, is your car lowered with Comptech springs? I know your sig does not indicate so, but I thought I read a post by you a couple weeks ago that indicated you were running on the SSR Comps with 235/45-17 Toyos AND Comptech springs AND no rubbing.

Please say that it is so!!!

I am NOT lowered, but I did take my wheels off and put them on my friend's Type S that DOES have the Comptechs. I guess my next "task" is to take my 245s and put them on the lowered car!

Thanks. Were you able to drive your friend's lowered CLS to check for rubbing, etc, or just a stationary fitment test?

Those tires look killer.
For Chrisakes lower that ride so maybe we little 17"ers can all enjoy those.
