Golf VR6 Tastes like chicken...
Let me start off by saying that I usually don't race in this car but I had kind of a rough day- anyways... I am driving home last night at about 8:30pm and this Golf VR6 (5 speed) comes whizzing by me. The light ahead of us is red and there is a car in the middle lane (3 lane road). I go left- he goes to the right lane. I can't see him or hear his car (Clapton was playing kind of loud) so when the light turned green I gunned it with traction on. I think I'm alone up front (can't see him in any of my mirrors) so I lay off the gas (thinking he didn't want to race). Next thing I know he is flying past me ( must've been in my blindspot) and cuts me off to be the lead car at the next light. The other two lanes were already taken. So I line up behind him and its on. When the light turned green he punched it- his tires did a little squeal. I did the same and in a matter of seconds we are way ahead of the traffic that was sitting at the light. I am still behind him but gaining fast. When we hit 90 I was next to him and in front of his bumper- 110 he was 2 cars behind me. I put on my flashers and hit the brakes.

I had no problem taking this one. He was also chirping 2nd gear.

One of my best buddies has a 2k1 vr6 and that baby is no slouch.. once we were racing..
1 GS400
1 GS300 (modded)
2 Maxima's
6 IS300
2 Celica GT-S
ask the IS300 board about the NorthEast meet.. we all were racing and the GTI was kicking ass.. let me tell you
I beat him... but it was the GS400 out in front.. my cousin with his 97 Max, me, the GTI, Tical_IS300 (charcoal grey IS300) and everyone else in the back
the GS400 doens't pull more than 4 cars on my friends GTI .. don't sleep on GTI's

Um I think your the Moron here. You start one car behind and make it to 2 cars ahead by 110. That is 3 car lengths total! Aside from that you must have been behind for a while as well so you can benefit from some drafting. At 110mph do you even know what the time difference is for a 3 car lengths? It also took you all the way to 90mph just to pull even (one car length) with him. All the guy in the GTI has to do is drop in a chip and k&n with a swiss cheese air box and you would lose! 260HP?? Hahaha :p

Your an idiot! Just curious do you have any friends on this forum? Your car (at 260hp)is not that fast so get over it vs a 174hp VW. It took you to 90mph (approx a 1/4 mile) just to catch him!! Hahaha wow your car is sooooo fast you can beat a VW by a couple of cars by 110mph..wow weee! 
Also funny how you let off at 110mph which is where the GTI would easily pull back on you at around 120 and probably pull ahead thereafter to 140+ which your car probably can't even do!

Ya I have no car your right! At least if I had a 260HP 2 door car I would destroy a VW Rabbit GTI by a hell of alot more than a couple of car lengths by 110mph. Also you never answered the question if you have any friends on this forum?
