lightweight wheels
Actually my SSR comps I think give less traction. It's so much easier to spin my tires off the line & that leads to wheel hop. Maybe if they had drags on them it would compensate.

makes sense, but lightweight wheels with sticky 235 tires would be awesome i think...

Theyll make a difference in you 60ft times but your trap will probably still be low. Your intake temps are too high, so its not making all the power it should up top.

What mods have you done to date?

I too think it is the heat. Plug in corrected times for a 60 degree day and see what that 14.2 turns into.

It really is all in the 60 ft. Get lighter wheels (go with 17's for sure) and some drag radials and you'll run 13's.

I dont even bother going to the track if its above 80*, it really just kills your times.

I say go with 17's because you can find 17" drag radials in the sizes you need, and the more sidewall the better, as they will absorb the shock of the launch much better. Hell, I would have went with 16" wheels if I knew of a 16" drag radial that would've worked.

YEAH, well even a 2.1 60ft only got me a 14.2, but i understand what you are saying.
hell, if you would have had my mods on your car, you would have run a 13.4-13.5...lol

i probably wont go to the track for a long time because im tired of the same times.

btw shifted at 7200 and tire pressure was 25lbs, and launched at 3k feathing the clutch...no wheel hop, but tires spin once im full throttle and churp through 3rd..

Hey the exhuast you got is it mandrel bent or pressure bent? If it is Pressure bent then its like your running 2 1/4 exhuast so then it would still be pretty much like stock. When I went from stock exhuast to 2.5 inch mandrel bent I gained about 1mph in the 1/4.

Aaron the day I got the time I listed it was 55 degrees. I iced down the intake for an hour before that run, which was run #2. On run #1, I lined up beside a custom turbo 350Z and he spun bad, he only passed me in the last 200 feet of track. We ended up parking next to each other and he was shocked at how I took off and thought I had nitrous. My mph on that run was 99, he had extra ice and said "here use this ice for an hour, you need to break 100". Nice guy he was, it worked! I was happy so I went home.

why is our car affected by the heat sooo much. other cars out there were running normal times.
plus, i am worried that maybe i need a valve adjustment because my car seems to be very noisy. i wish i knew what the engine is supposed to sound like so i could know if i had an issue.
but the heat that comes off the engine bay is insane too, i can feel it at night time if i have the windows down and it hits my arm like a damn heat gun..lol

thanks guys..i might go one more time before summer is over, but i just have a feeling that something isnt wright, but maybe its all in my head...lol

do you really shift quick enough ? let me tell u something lately i raced a friend that he got basicly same mods that i do and i was still pulling on him to be honest why i dont know sometimes its fuel sometimes its driver sometimes its a other thing that is with the car... post a video next time from the inside of your car so we can see how you're doing im not trying to say that u cant drive a stick but lets say did you remove check valve from slave cylinder ? or do you have good engine mounts ? this counts alot with good UHP tires u can get 60ft to 2.1 easy maybe less u just need to keep trying to get perfect launch

btw im getting P&P intake and runners now and im changing midpipe to custom 2.5" SS with 18" Vibrant resonator so it should make a differance too i will post results as soon as i get mounts done too...

AWESOME MAN.
YES, I am a very good driver. My 60ft is also between 2.1 and 2.2 most of the time. I do have the check valve deleted, but no ss lines yet. I do shift very quickly and precise.
I'm getting a dyno very soon, maybe even before i go to the track next week, to see if my car is even putting down the power it should...240-250whp?
I may just have a weak motor...135k miles...or clutch even?
those mods you wanna do im sure will help you out, and i cant wait to see what you get at the track next time...
i will try to get a vid of the dyno and track next week
