A 2.14 60ft time is pretty good for our cars. Heck if i had a 2.16 id be running like a 13.4 or so.

great numbers and good kill by the way on that STI...
yeah @ 14.1 you would think you would be around 100mph.
you were spinning tires as well though on that run, so i guess that is gonna happen regardless....

found some xs headers, im so excited, i may get them before track this week too

last run of the night(#17)...lol

14.27 @ 98.11mph

it was a hot and humid night, high 80's most of the night with the same humidity. track was shitty too. very choppy and sandy until they cleaned it real good.

i think i can still do much better, but my intake and cat need to be replaced asap too. i really wanna be in the 13's
Reese was out there and he smoked me with a 13.60 @ 102mph!!

even with my auto at the track and brake standing it i dropped my tire pressure to 23 and go .25 better in the 60 ft.

a little rule of thumb for our cars is ever .1 u shave off the 60ft is .2 shaved off the 1/4 mile.

I told this to a guy at the track and he didn't believed me. so i showed him my time slips before the tire pressure and after.. and i was dead on the money.

it's all about starting with these FWD boats :-)

i bet suspension work would help HUGE tho. now that my car is lowered significantly in the front i'm sure i'd get below 14.5

but i'm not going to the track probably since i roasted my 1st rebuild quite fast and don't plan on hurting this next one even tho i have much better components.

plus i beat a modded 350z by a nose which was cool. that .01r/t was killing them all night...lol

ya, it's good enough for now. I think i'll keep it this way for quite a while. If i do anything else it would be a high flow cat and 3" exhaust. Baby coming and new house = no more time for the CL lol.

I'll post some good pics once the rims are on in my pic thread.

^ You don't need those to run 13's. You just need to practice racing it more and you'll get there.

I really need some stock diameter tires in the front that are wider as well. 235 or 245/45/17. the 225's are like 1/2" smaller than stock diameter.
I dont think the car will go any faster man, it is choking hard, look at my speed.(97-98mph)
the cheap intake i think is really killing me too. i havent changed it out yet, but it needs to be. its one of those plastic gimmocks...lol..my 60ft is pretty good. 2.14-2.20 all night.
i think those mods will get me to or over 100mph and a 13.8 or 13.9.

Youre right about not being able to compare times with KA's because his runs were in the 40's but when Aaron and I ran it was almost 80 degrees with alot of humidity. Also we do see some days in the 40s just not many.

My car did the following years ago when I cared about drag racing it:

Bone stock - 14.5 @ 96.5mph

Drag radials on stock wheels - 14.29 @ 98.8mph

Drag radials w/lightweight wheels & Icebox - 14.08 @ 98.8mph

Drag radials w/lightweight wheels, Icebox, H&R springs & Tokico struts - 13.93 @ 97.3mph

Its really all about the launch and shifting fast. My car never mph'd fantastic, but it always ran nice ET's. My 13 sec run came with a 2.105 60' and little to no wheel hop or tire spin.

My car is an old man now with 156k hard miles, but it used to be a sprightly 13 sec sleeper.

wow, great times.
i shift real fast and efficient @ 6800rpm, and obviously my 60ft are real good (2.1-2.2), it is really just my car, but maybe at 132k miles, this is the best mine will do at the moment.
hell, if i had drag radials i should be in the good 13's, but i wanna be able to do that with street tires

what wheels are you thinking?
i mean our stock wheels arent light, but they only weigh 22lbs.
i found some 18x8 rota torque with tires for $400, but they weigh just as much as stock
enkei rpo1 or motegi track lite, but they are real expensive...

I was just thinking the same thing...Even though dyno chart wise the power falls off, you'll be more in the power band the next gear

ill try it @ 7200 next time and see if there is a difference.
you are right about the power drop off and thats why i did it, but you are also right about the rpms for the powerband...
thanks for your input

DAMN!!!, you 100% on that?
i thought i saw on here they were 22lbs, but im NOT 100%.
If so, then the Rotas would be 21lbs a piece, which would be much lighter.
or the 17" 07 TL-S wheels with 235/45 tires for $400 and my wheels/tires, but i dont know how much they weigh

The TL rims weigh a lot too...probably 25-26lbs. I had my CL rims off the other day before i sold them....should have weighed them. This is why i picked up some RPF1s. they should shed about 7lbs per corner.
