Gate shift is best. Brake torque to 2000 rpms, then 50% and floor it once you are doing some 35 MPH.

What tire do you have? If stock try Start at 32 and drop to 22-25 fronts ( if you are spining too much) and bump reear to 40.

-use gate shift( try to get as close to the limiter w/o actally hitting it)
-DONT brake torque, its proven do get better 60's w/ lanching from idle
-20 psi up front, 40 in the back
-go on 1/4 tank or less if possible, take out the spare
-try to get in alot of consecutive runs, the cl-s loves back 2 back runs, you'll see how much your times improve from the first run, i went from 14.6 to 14.2 in the same day just like 5 runs later w/ the 60' only being .1 better, so thats proof that the car gets quicker w/ multiple runs

20 psi thats a little low i think but you can be right my tires dont spin alot when i get on it in the street and the track will be a little stickier also how much slower is d5 compared to gate shiffting in tenths of a second

if u can hook up at 25psi thats even better, if your 60's are 2.4 and higher lower the psi

youd be suprised at how shitty the tracks traction is, the dragsters tear that shit up, i hook up way better on the street than milan dragway, but every track is diff, i heard etown is well taken care of and prepped

i cant answer your 3rd question cause i have never ran the 1/4 in d5, but its way better to gate shift if u have perfected it, u stay deeper into vtec on the shifts, just practice and you'll be alright since your stock the revs dont climb that fast, add i/h and the gateshifting gets alot harder cause the tach flies to redline as soon as the 2nd stage induction opens up

Lowering your tire pressure might help you gain a bit of traction off the line, but it will also increase the rolling resistance and slow you down the rest of the way.

Damn good advice darrinb!! I can't comment on the gate shifting because I have not tried it (usually I use the SS), but I'm sure that will give good results.

dont ask what rpm to switch at, u gotta go on the street and play with the car your self, cause every car setup is different, are trannies are different , etc.... and u need to shift earlier on the 1-2 shift than the 2-3 cause the revs climb quicker in first gear, just go out and follow the steps i said above, remember try to change gears as close to the rev limiter as possible w/o actually hitting it
