Going to PAA Monday Morning

Question, do you think it would be possible for them to take care of all of the following problems I have in one visit? Hopefully most of it will be covered with the remaining warranty.

Headlamp Condensation (Both)
Rear Defrost Doesn't operate
Brake Rotor Vibration
Chrome on Driver Door handle Chipping Bad
Wheel Alignment Needed (Pulls Left)
Tranny Fluid Change? (I have 38k Mi)

I don't want to go there asking for too much and having them think I am nuts LOL.

Lemme know

tx

PS, What type of loaner do you think i'd get?

On a side note, if they end up replacing both headlight housings, would it be possible to ask for the 03 CL-S housings (The dark housing) instead of the 01 housing?

If not no biggie, but would be nice.

You will have to pay for the alignment and the tranu fluid change, thats not udner Acura's warranty.

Yeah I knew that the fluid and alignment wouldn't be covered, but the rest should be.

Thanks guys, hopefully I can get it by the end of the day then.

BTW, how do I get Jens to work on my car? Can I just request him? or is it the luck of the draw?

Should I call PAA and request him over the phone before I go?

Nah, should be able to take car of.
I just recently had both headlights housings replaced, and actually thought about asking for the 03's also, since they had to order them, what would be the big deal, but never got around to asking.
Also just had my front pads replaced and rotors resurfaced under TSB.
I wish I could have Jens or Anthony work on my car, but thats just too far of a drive for some service.

WILLDOGS looks like i'll be seeing you on Monday morning. I've got an appointment to have my CT Exhaust, B-pipe and UR pulleys installed.

However the threat of 6" of snow is gonna be a bitch. Still i'm saying "f*ck you" to mother nature and i'm gonna make the trip.

Should be fun.

Ok check that. I just heard the updated forecast and looks like we MIGHT get a dusting to 1" at the most. I swear they can't predict the weather for shit.

All is well again.

Unfortunately I won't see you guys there, but I'll be there the next day for my CT stainless brake lines, flush&fill of brake fluid for Castrol, and 15K service .. and a few other things I made a list of
bend CT exhaust straight, check suspension bolts, and investigate the odd rough idle "shudder" I get when braking and coming to a stop.

HEy blader do you have 5 a/t or 6 speed ? I get the shuddering idle when coming to a stop also, but it doesn't do it regularly, and mine is 5 a/t.

Yay, dropped it off this morning (a little later than I wanted)

Tom was ultra nice to me, and was going to take care of things.

Sorry I missed you chaptorial, I got there at about 8:20am..guessing you were gone by then.

Good news is I got a sweet 04 TSX loaded as a loaner. Only 3k on the clock.
Very nice car, but underpowered compared to the CL

Chopper, same here. I have a 5AT. Doesnt do it regularly, but I was noticing it at almost every light lastnight.
Could it be the cold? I think I've only been noticing it since it's been really cold out (not sure though). Maybe the engine is shivering cause its so cold?

Damn.. I just missed all of you guys... I was there Friday morning.. 9am. My rear view mirror decided to break... so they got me in Friday 9AM and I was gone by 9:45am.... worked out well

FYI, Jens does most of the work if they know you're from the board... but honestly... all of their techs are good.

long as your over 21 they should offer you a loaner .. they usually dont offer them for anything under an hr tho like an oil change.

They should always offer, but if they don't just ask if they provide loaner cars.

sometimes they don't have loaners. Upon making your appointment request a loaner, if it is unavailable, you can change your day to the first available with a loaner, thats what I always did. There isn't much worse then wasting your time sitting for your car to be finished, also with the loaner all you do is drop it off at the end of the day, they have late pick-up for your car and it works out great, very convienent.

Sometimes (I know PAA does this) the dealer has an account with a car rental place .. so if they run out of dealership loaners they hand out rental cars free of charge.

That's sweet to get a TSX loaner. The service advisor at my dealer just informed me that they got rid of all their '03 CL/TL loaners and are now giving '04 TL's as loaners...they also have 3 TSX loaners there as well. Will be taking my car in to have my headlights and brakes checked on Wednesday and I will have a loaner available to me. Will take some pics if I get the chance!

WILLDOGS i got the exact same car as you except in silver with black interior. That little TSX was a blast to drive around NJ this morning. The only thing i walked away from the TSX wishing i had in my CL was those gauges.

What time did you end up getting there? I got there at 7:30 and picked up the car at about 12:45, chatted with Jens and then i was out the door.

I got there around 8:20am?

Yeah the TSX is fun to drive, the gauges are awesome! I wanted a TL, but they were all gone. Looks like some guy took the last one.

I am still waiting for my callback. I haven't heard anything from them yet, hope all is well

You mean they had loaner TL's there?

I was the second one there this morning too. They stuffed some lady into an RSX while i got the TSX.

I knew those Jersey types were nuts.

Oh and I saw one of those grey/anthracite ones and on an over cast day that sucker was looking sweeeet. :wackit:

Well, I called service earlier and they said my car was still being worked on and that they would definitly call me back by the end of the day. Seeing as how they close at 5pm, and they haven't called me back yet, looks like the TSX is mine for the night.

Oh well.

Unfortunately, one wasn't mine. I haven't had it out of the garage since December. Summer timers suck in the white stuff.

Well, got the car back here is what they did:

Headlamp Condensation (Both) - Replaced Both Housings

Rear Defrost Doesn't operate - Replaced fuse but blame it on aftermarket connections

Brake Rotor Vibration - Resurfaced and put new pads. The said it was Good Will since it had previously been done to this car already.

Chrome on Driver Door handle Chipping Bad - New one on order.

Wheel Alignment Needed (Pulls Left) - I decided that this could wait.

Tranny Fluid Change? (I have 38k Mi) - Tom advised me not to mess with it since it has the 7/100 warranty anyways. Come back in the sprintime to do it.

Comments:
Awesome service, everyone is extremly nice there. Even other emplyees pass by and say hi to you with a smile. Tom was great and I saw Jens, but he was talking with someone and didn't want to interrupt.

Problem:
They blame the rear defroster for not working properly becasue of "Aftermarket" connections that are present. They replaced the fuse out of good will, but advised me that it will probably blow again, which it already has.

Now, I am not sure what aftermarket wiring they are talking about becasue the only aftermarket item I have on my car is a viper alarm that was installed by a professional installer last week. However, my rear defrost problem was happening way before I had my alarm installed. I fear that they saw the alarm and just made the conclusion that the alarm was the cause of the problem without even looking into it further.

Not sure what to do next. Am I left to figure it out on my own? I am positive that the alarm has nothing to do with it.

Thanks for listening.
