Going to install shock sensor this weekend on my '03

I'm going to use NOVAwhiteTypeS's template

http://public.fotki.com/novawhitetyp...ensor_install/

for the job. The pictures make it look very straight forward. Anyway, has anyone here installed one on their '03 CLS or have any tips? I've noticed that in his tutorial, someone made the comment that there was more than one yellow wire (the one you tap into). If anyone has found that there are differences in color wires that Acura has used from different model years, that would be very helpful to know.

Also, if anyone knows what gauge the wire is under the dash that would be great. Actually, I probably just need to know what gauge I should get based on the shock sensor's wires...? Radio shack has a bunch of prongs for different gauge wires, which is why I'm asking.

Thanks guys.

oops forgot to answer u. well for the guages they are very very thin and I dont 'belive the ones that radio shack will work cause I've tried them. the best are the 3m wire taps which are extremly hard to find. Try a stereo installation shop and see if they have any. and the key to finding the magical yellow wire w/ silver dots is to once u find it trace it back and make sure it goes to the top back of the fuse box.

Allrighty then... I successfully installed my shock sensor over the weekend. Nova your pictures were great. I was able to get underneath the dash and tap that yellow wire without having to take the fuse box out. All I had to do was loosen the electrical tape around the wires going to the back harness. I used one of those squeeze taps from Radio Shack which worked just fine.

As far as the shock sensor goes, I'm not too sure if maybe I should upgrade it or not. I bought one that Radio Shack had for $10... made by Bulldog Security. I set it to most sensitive and when I tapped it with my finger, sure enough the alarm went off. The thing is though no matter where I mounted the sensor, hitting the glass of my window or pounding on the A pillar wouldn't set it off. With this in mind, I'm not too confident that someone prying my headlamps out is going to set this thing off.

Should the sensor be that resiliant to impact, or do you think maybe I got a cheapass one that isn't going to do the job? Even if I have to replace it I'm not going to really be all that upset.... seeing as how it was $10 and all.
