I'm in MD and have vanity plates. I got in a front ended accident a few months ago that cracked my front plate. Is there is way to pay for a new one (same vanity tag)? Anyone in MD know?

 

In NY, you just report it destroyed to the DMV and they will send you another one and then you bring the dead one back to them.

 

You should be able to get a replacement vanity tag as long as the actual plate design is still in production (you don't have an old "Save the Bay" vanity that has recently been updated). And if the design has changed, I'm sure you can get your vanity plates transfered to the new design. Go to an MVA w/ your old plates and it should not be a problem.
