Getting ready to buy 6MT...any advice?

Getting ready to buy 6MT...any advice?
I am starting to get serious about buying a car and i am really considering the 6 speed. The MSRP is 31xxx$, and i dont think the dealer is gonna budge too much. Also, the color i want is anthracite, which is hard to find. The dealer may have to trade with a dealership in MD or CT (i am in PA) for that color. So how much bargaining power do i have, especially if they are gonna ship a car across three states? Would i be better just buying one they already have (silver or black)? I am not going for the navi. Any advice would help out since this is my first experience buying a new car. thanks
P.S. Are those of you guys who have the 6MT happy? Any complaints? I have read almost every thread and tons of searches and i think it is a good buy! just wish i could talk them down a bit.

i bought mine 2 motnhs ago....trust me...u will fall in love!> my contenders were a 330ci is300 audi a4 and mercedes c class....even tho all of em are more pricier none of em felt more fun to drive then the CL 6 SPD...bmw did feel more stable but who cares for stabilty on a 225 hp car?
Bottom line ...I LOVE THE 6SPD

I just picked up my 6MT Anthracite Cl-Type-S on Friday. My dealer also didnt have any. I had to get it from the factory. I got it for $28800 plus tax and tag. Thats it. Only $141 above dealer invoice. The only thing I had to negotiate down was the dealer fee ($500). And even then I just told him another dealer was offering not to charge a dealer fee and he just said "Ok...Ill take it off." I love it so far, but I'm not supposed to take it above 4000 rpms before 600 miles. I think then I'll really love it.

I also chose mine over a 330Ci, VERY happy with my decision, there are 330's everywhere, I seldom see another CL. I had to wait 2 months for my Aegean BLue, worth the wait. Get the color you really want.

As I understand it, you have even less barganing power on a dealer swap because it costs them money to perform the transaction (especially accross 3 states). Remember, they're paying bank interest on all cars in stock so they should be more eager to move on them.
Would I buy another? Absolutely!

I had to wait about four weeks. I didn't hardly have to negotiate at all. I just called the internet sales manager on the phone and asked him for the price. He said $29000 plus $500 dealer fee and tax-tag. I called another dealer's internet sales manager and he said $28900 plus $400 dollar dealer fee and tax-tag. I was going to go with that, but the guy from the first dealer called me and I told him I was going with someone else b/c lower price. He said how about $28800 and no dealer fee...I said its a deal. I put down $250 deposit and my car came in about four weeks later. I live in South Florida and there are about six or seven Acura dealers down here so competition might have helped with that low price.
Good luck

Don't pay MSRP
I got the 6spd CL-S with Navi for $30000.00 + tax/licence. That's about $500 below invoice. Try Keyes Acura in Van Nuys if you are from the California area.
You'll love the car. Don't bother spending $7K more for the G35 Coupe. Get the headers for $1000 and you got 300hp. Get the S/C for $4000 and you got 400hp. Nothing's gonna catch you!

I looked at a few cars, the 330ci being the closest choice--great car, but I couldn't justify the price tag next to the CL.

For our Canadian friends here is my story:
I bought my CLS 6spd for CDN$39,400 (with spoiler). The MSRP for this car in Canada is CDN$42,545. The reason I was able to get over 3K below MSRP is because I returned my 2000 TL with very low milage and in mint condition (so the deal actually shows a $2500 trade in allowance on the capital costs of the new CLS).
I wanted the Blue color and they did not have any and offered me a black, grey or silver model. I refused and they had to ship a car from another dealer. Do not compromise on color if you really love the grey!
Do I love my CLS 6spd? Absolutely! There is no way I could justify the CDN$54K I would have to pay for the 330ci to get a similar ride. Slap better tires on the CLS 6spd and the 330ci's performance advantage all but evaporates.

I picked up my 03 6spd for $41,500 CDN, which included: Lowering, spoiler, mats, wheel locks, and freight. Not bad I thought....
You'll love the 6spd...
