Getting prepared to get the tranny replaced....

Alright guys, We all know about the our transmission troubles and my day has finally come. I purchased this car used at 60K, now at 93K it looks like I have to bring it in the dealership this week to get it fixed. Is there ANYTHING that I should be aware of before I go there? any extra costs? and how long does it usually take?

From: Pacific Northwest, blah.
I know this, if the 2nd gear is discolored in any way, or is basically FUBAR, then you get a new tranny. If no discoloration you get the jet oil kit that keeps the 2nd gear lubed pretty well. My tranny never had any issues but just to be caucious I took it in to have the oil kit installed. Still on first tranny, passed 103,000 miles recently...

knock on wood.

No extra costs because they extended the tranny warranty to 10 yrs/ 100k miles. The oil kit takes about 2-4 hours depending on availability. Tranny...all day

Good luck...check on the tranny fix forum for more info.

It is applied to all 01 -03 models. Region shouldn't matter. I would speak with Acura Inc. for more info. The dealer is probably pussin out because they don't want to fix any more trannies.

region does not matter. and there should be zero cost incurred by you. Seems like they all go when the tranny is flushed...you happen to just get your 90000 maint done?
