Gear Shift selector backlighting
Gear Shift selector backlighting
Last night, I noticed that the backlighting on the center console gear shift selector is out. My first question is how do I change it? Second question, is the bulb a dealer item or can I buy it aftermarket? As always, thanks in advance!
it's a tiny little bulb. If I remember correctly, Type 74.
Your best bet? Just remove all the trimming around the shifter and get to the bulb. Shouldn't take you longer than 5 minutes. (unscrewing the shift knob is NOT required to get to the bulb)

the man speaks the truthand i've got an LED in there
Take the black/grey trimming off, the one with the hole for the shift lock override. It should pry up. Then take the grey/silver trim off and go from there. It should be pretty common sense now.
