Gdmf Trannies!!! >:o

Well, I'm on tranny #2 as most of you know.

Ever since I picked the car up from its new tranny insertion, it had a strange smell when stopped. I called service about it, and they said it's prolly just spilled tranny fluid - if it keeps up, call / bring it back.

So I go on a trip down to Boca this week - and it's still happening.

When I get back, I check the tranny fluid level.

THE DAMNED THING IS ALMOST OFF THE DIPSTICK!!!!!!

Looking under the car, I see a small puddle of tranny fluid and a streak about 4" wide of tranny fluid extending towards the rear of the car.

Amazing. They can't even seal the tranny right.

Needless to say, now I gotta go out, get some regular tranny fluid, and limp my car back to the dealer. God only knows how long this will be. Let's hope I don't need another tranny.

Make sure you document it well so they don't try to blame you for using plain ol' fluid and tearing up the tranny.

Well, here's the deal. Apparently, somehow the left axle seal split, and that was the source of the leak. They're replacing the seal (overnighting it so I might get my car back tomorrow), and the fluid - hopefully no tranny damage.

Hell - I TRIED to fill it with regular ATF before I drove it to the dealer to give me a "limp" mode - but I couldn't get the damned ATF fill bolt off! Those of you that remember my diatribe from changing my ATF at 18k might recall the many hours I banged my knuckles and tired my tricepts getting the last one off. This time, I said "fock it" and just drove the car in.

Oh well - I called acura CS back (had opened a case with them when my last tranny died) and let them know that a damned oil change will NOT fix my problems if I need more than a day or so of work.
